yeah, I put it in and flashed for the first time in a week. crawrj, I have been unable to get the caller announcement to go through the BT. It does open the gateway for a second as usual, but then closes as soon as the announcement starts. Are you still able to reproduce you findings consistently?

ALWAYS FLASH BACK TO YOUR CARRIER'S OFFICIAL ROM BEFORE TAKING YOUR PHONE IN FOR SERVICE OF ANY KIND

Call the phone and see if vc transfers callerid to the phone. If it does now turn it up and see if it still does. What I found on mine is that if I tried it with the volume up too loud it would not work. It would kick it right back to the phone. But if I did it on a low setting it worked. And after it made its first connection you could turn the volume to anything you wanted. I appreciate the assistance in determining whether this works on any other roms.
Sorry I'm a little late in the game, but i tried this and YES it does work!

I use phoneAlarm, so I now have it set when I turn BT on, it drops the volume down to 40%...I can just turn it up on my headset.

BTW, I'm using Helmi's stock 3.3 w/ my own OEMs/tweaks.

I stand corrected, this does work. I just didn't have the volume down far enough. Very nice find.

So, now the question is why? Unfortuately I cannot test this right now because I only have one phone and no land line. Perhaps someone should try pulling the "Silent" ringer from IDTransfer and setting it as the ringer and then experiment with different volumes.

lowering the ring volume still does not work for me. I have gotten several tricks to get the announcement to work but it always ends up being intermittent. I am on the road getting calls all day for work and nothing has worked consistently I thought i stumbled on a fix once before..If i manually ran the voicecmd.exe not the .lnk it would always announce the next call correctly, even if it was hours later. But...as soon as i would answer a call via BT headset it would no longer work. I am back to using IDTransfer for now but on the brightside I just upped a working OEM for iton the ftp.

Sorry for taking so long I took a couple of days vacation. I am glad you were able to duplicate and get it working. I don't understand why it works that way. Once you lower it the first time you should be able to raise it and it work fine. I think you have to follow the same procedure on reboots if I remember right. Now that I am back I will play with it more and see if I can figure out why. Please post any findings that you come across.
