Well, don't give up hope...it's a newly found issue so it might take some time to see if they can find a workaround. I'd follow, monitor and maybe even participate in that thread and discussion. Only numbers and brainstorming might reslove this.

Seems to be isoloated to phones made April and beyond (for ref. I just checked mine: 9/10/05! ).

Another option: run back to sprint and see if you can exchange it for a pre-April phone! (you'll have to check the manufacture date via ##786#, just do not hit that reset soft-key!)

what would have changed except the software??? Right??? what could have been done to the phone? Or is it the rom update itself that's been worked on? anyone?

simple: they changed the chipset, possibly to save costs.

otoh, the hardware versions appear to be the same...

All that is known at this time is that if it's April or after, it don't work...

people have flashed with our 2.06 rom to no avail and others are trying to downgrade/upgrade, but that doesn't appear to work either...

Mine was manufactured on 2/7/06. I tried and it works but the speed drops to 1x and goes back to EV after the call ended. However, when I am streaming sirius, calls wouldn't come through at all.
