PhoneAlarm 1.58 OEM Available

Tested and works perfectly.

Just a word, though, that many (ok, most ) of the files are hard-coded, so they are copied out of the Windows directory into Program Files\phoneAlarm (less than 1MB).

Only the stock skins are in the OEM. Take a look at the initflashfiles.txt file if you want to add your own skins.

Remember, also, this is not freeware so you need your own serial.

It's in the Apaches\Kitchen OEM folder -- Signal34_phoneAlarm_1.58.

Enjoy.

I couldnt get it to work, just freezes my phone if I have the today plugin enabled (actually freezes just after the initial boot, but if I hurry through just skipping everything, I can get to the settings and disable it, then my phone works good. I have verified that it inst a rom space issue, as I temp removed Live, which is like 4 mb by itself.

I'll keep trying different things...

I'm sorry to hear that. I know that the same thing happened to me when trying to do MSVC from an OEM...no matter which one I tried (my own or one from the FTP), it wouldn't boot or I would get the WSOD. I just had to install MSVC from the Ext_ROM.

Don't know if it matters, but I'm running Helmi's original 3.3, with my own minor performance mods.

That could be something, I tried it on 3.5 rolled from kitchen3.5pr1.2. I tried it multiple times (i added msvc, newmenu, mslive and PA all at the same time, BAD ME...) Eventually, I wound up taking them out 1 by 1, and I experienced WSOD w/ msvc in there as well, and once i removed MSVC, it would atleast boot, but would lock hard at the point where it loads the PA today screen... Oh well.

Eventually, the more I thought about it, is there really much savings if it has to copy everything out to the \program files\phonealarm folder anyhow?

But, I was able to add some games and a few tsks into rom at the same time, now I have everything I need loaded and still have >35mb free, whereas before I rolled my own, I had <10 free.... Big difference.

I'll play with it more next weekon my spare phone, and bunch shaved of my oem folder, to see if I can get it flying under 3.5.

ya I was coming back here to comment after 6 builds... it just locks the phone up. I updated the package to 1.6 beta and the phone boots fine, and the program works...

BUT..................

you cant choose any skins so the bar where phonealarm *should* be is just a big gap on the today screen. Is there a way in the registry to force the skin selection ?

anyways if you guys are going to try, go with the 1.6beta LITE ... thats the only one ive not had lock the phone up.
