Re: Okay I think I actually bricked it.
User account control (aka the thing that causes pop-ups every 5 seconds asking for permission to perform various tasks). It can cause a lot of headaches with certain programs that weren't written with Vista in mind. Don't get me wrong, I actually really like Vista and I appreciate the need for that kind of precaution in the OS that runs the vast majority of the world's computers. Personally, I don't feel the need to have it on my systems though.
