Okay I think I actually bricked it.

First off I want to thank everyone for all the hard work. My phone would have been garbage a long time ago if not for you guys.

Today I cooked a new rom for my apache, my first on my new vista machine. sheesh. I miss xp.

Okay. I went to flash my new rom and vista had an error or something in the middle, and got me stuck in bootloader. I dl'ed new x64 drivers, turned of driver signing, and ran mtty. I did the commands set 14 0 ; task 28 55aa ; and task 28. After a hard reset, she came back. SO then I try to flash the rom again. This time the ruu puts the phone in bootloader, and then nothing. Just sits there. Nothing. I try to get her back with mtty again and nothing. I can put in bootloader still, but it is wierd now in that to put it in bootload or hard reset, the reset button at the bottom no longer needs to be pushed, just the soft keys for hard reset or the note/ power for bootload. If I go to hard reset, i push y and space and the screen just goes black. But I can still put it back in boot load. I have been searching all day and don't know what to do. Please tell me someone knows of this mysterious phenomenon.

Thanks Again:violent2:

Make sure you are up to date with updates on vista....most issues happen on vista cause vista does not have the latest updates....some people have no problems with flashing on vista once updated...and some people never get it to work...if all things fail try running in XP compability mode on your Vista machine or find/borrow an XP maching near by...lol.

It is almost impossible to brick the 67

Unless you are an experienced chef, also try cooking a smaller ROM. BTW, what's ur bootloader version?

First of all, when in PPCkitchen, make sure that you have selected the correct bootloader version in the upper menu.
Also, if you can, find a Windows XP computer and install activesync 4.5 on it, then get the exitbootloader program from this forum. Connect your device, and go to it. I was also trapped in bootloader when I tried to flash my ROM, and I found that Windows XP is your best bet for anything involving flashing ROMS or getting yourself out of bootloader.

If you don't have to push the reset button, it is probably stuck. Wiggle a paperclip or something around in there and see if you can get it to work properly. If you have to, take the phone apart and inspect the reset switch.

I just took it in and got a replacement. Now I want to cook up another rom because I can't stand 5.0. My "new" one is bootloader 1.02. The only updates I dont have are for office. I really don't want to brick two in a row:) Any other suggestions? I dont have an xp machine available to me right now...

Same thing happened to me, i was here for 3 consecutive days desperate for an answer... all right, i took a deep breath, totally forgot about my vista notebook, installed and download all the goodies to my wife's notebook with xp. my xv67 was stuck in the bootloader, so i used mtty again ( uninstall driver, install again, disable USB on active sync and enable it again... you know the drill ) so I tried to bring it back to an earlier bootloader. after I pushed the OEM aku 3.3 from utstar.com using the NOID procedure found on the stickys. the apps were giving all kinds of errors, ( this rom was not made for your phone, etc etc ) so trying different combinations, different times I was able to push an OEM RUU (noID) to the phone, then after that the kitchen ROM worked. and after all that the phone was stuck in bootloader again, the only way to get it out was using mtty with a command i found here also. beleive me, i was 100% sure i'd brick it. but I got it back. just be persistent, follow all steps posted here , use XP, be patient and you'll get it. good luck

If you HAVE to use Vista, run BuildOS as Administrator.

UAC is one of the few things about Vista that I really hate. I usually just turn it off all together. I don't use it as my main OS though. Your situation may differ.
