first try... failed

So this is my first try at upgrading to a non Sprint ROM. All went well on install but on operation, I cannot connect via BT or USB to tether. No dial up BT service exists and USB reports "COM OPEN ERROR". I upgraded to fix issues with EVDO lockups I've experienced since Sprint upgraded this area. Though now my situation has worsened. Any advice would be appreciated.
Upgrade was to Kirvin_AKU_3.5_Sprint_NoJunk. Also ran PPCGeeks. com ApacheExtRomUnlocker and Ext ROM Unlock.

internet sharing

Following up to my previous post. Using Internet Sharing as opposed to wireless modem I can connect via usb. BT reports an unknown error in Internet Sharing. Still seeking advice or tips on using BT tethering.

Edit: USB connection produces "USB Device not recognized" on computer and "check usb cable..." on PPC every attempt to connect. I have to unplug/replug the usb cable after connected for it to be recognized.

Problems with the link to the ROM. The site is asking me for a password. Any ideas?

Kirvin_AKU_3.5_Sprint_NoJunk.zip

Hey guys yesterday I flashed my Verizon XV6700. I was scared at first but everything worked out great. I used the following ROM Kirvin_AKU_3.5_Sprint_NoJunk.zip. It's fast and clean.

Now for my very simple questions:

1. I have Verizon, but every time I get on PIE it says I'm using Sprint PCS Vision connection; how would I change this? And is this a problem?

2. I have not run the CAB for the extended rom yet, but when I do how do I ensure it doesn't turn my storage card into Storage Card 2?

3. Last question: Did I load the correct ROM? What should I do next?

Thanks!

According to your note - you loaded the wrong ROM!

I dont know if there is verizon version of the no junk ROM but if not - I would reflash with the Generic version. I've used it and it is very fast and stable. Dont use the link from teh first post - use the one on the 4th or 5th page as it is based off of the final unified release.

Thanks for the reply fablife! I went to page 5 to download the C&S Generic version but I'm getting an alert pop-up: "No file or directory exists."

Maybe Jeff's server is busy or something. Anyway I'll try again tomorrow. Also do you know if this ROM will still have the same stuff, like 1-Calc Lite? Thanks again!

To use the wireless modem on your Pocket PC via USB cable, you need to disable Active sync, enable the wireless modem app on your PDA then connect the device to your PC.

Kirvin, can you fix the link to the 3.5 no junk generic? The link on page 5 doesn't work. Thanks in advance
