Jeff... nice work.

I went from the OEM VZN image, to an updated one, to Sardinours' 3.5 PR6, to yours.

Unlike many of my buds who have 6700's, I have had no software or hardware issues with mine at all since I've owned it, going on 2 years.

I liked the OEM update, and I liked Sardinours' ROM. My issue with his was that even though it was "lite", it was heavy. It just had too many apps that I didn't want (and I didn't know how to remove them).

So I came across yours, which was given good ratings by many.

I installed it yesterday, and I'm pretty impressed.

I have had no issues, all software you had installed is what I need, and all of my software seems to work okay.

My only issue right now is ASYNC. I have 4.5 on an XP Pro PC, and for some reason, it'll sync to the point that I can explore my phone, but I can't do anything else. I don't believe it is ROM related as I've had this problem in the past. But it is driving me to drink (which may or may not be a bad thing depending on whos' winning the race today).

At any rate, cudos' from me for your work.

Jeff,

What is the difference between your 5/19 generic kitchen and 5/19 generic exe programs?

Thanks for all of your hard work

The exe file is a self-contained installer, just like what you'd download from Sprint or Verizon. You download it, connect your device USB, run the installer and follow directions and BAM you have a new ROM.

The kitchen is working environment for you to make your own version of the ROM by mixing and matching it with OEM modules you can find on the PPCgeeks FTP site. Once you get it tailored to your liking, you can run the builder.cmd batch file to build the ROM and flash your device with it.

can i upgrade from build 2.0.0 to yours(no junk) without any problems?
since im with sprint do i need to install the sprint cabs afterwards as well?

also, this seems to be the most lite custom rom, yet, as i want something i can add my own programs too.. and i dont like having a bunch of stuff already implanted in the rom..

is it easy to remove any of those programs?

and can someone post up a screenshot of this rom's theme? I wanna see what it looks like.. I just need something extremely stripped down but with the latest and fastest tweaked OS version..

If you install the Sprint version, the Sprint customizations are included in ROM and you get a blank ExtROM to use as a filestore.

Hello everyone. I am noob and have just bought a used Apache from ebay. I absolutely love the phone specially after installing the "JEFF SPEED DEMON ROM" ( Clean and simple) I do have a question for all you gurus. The Unit I got is a real battery hog. The guy I bought it from said it was an old battery so I bought a new one. But both batteries give me about 1 hr of talk time from fully charged to 10%. The phone is okay in every mode except when I make or receive calls. The phone during calls gets hot quickly and each 5-10 minute call eats anywhere from 10-30% battery.
Do you think its defective?
I also remember reading somewhere that the 2.2 rom caused the battery life to go way down.

Please advise. Also would like to know if reducing clocking speed will help.

I am a power phone user and because of work have at least 10-15 calls a day and can not go on like this.

Any advise and help is much appreciated.
