The point of my input was to coincide with what you said in the original post. You said yourself that most were junk. They are either mislabled or misrepresented. They all almost say they are made from generic Japanese cells. Most listing even have bluntly provided contradictional information if you read closely enough. I will say all that I have read (as well as the chargers) seem to have ICs to prevent overcharging.

So I was only backing up what you already confirmed, "Most of the extended batteries on ebay ARE JUNK". This is why when most people come here and ask about batteries I try to direct them to get at least an OEM batt or a reputable brand name that actually has the correct capacity and/or will be able to produce or preform under a workload.
Im not trying to take away from the education side of your post but only to reinforce it. As far as I am concerned, you gave your pros and cons and then your conclusional statement. Its not the first time those testing results have corssed paths there but I do agree most people are either lazy or true do not know what all info you can find on the net if you really look.
