Extended batteries -read before buying eBay!

These batteries also do not have the circuitry to prevent overcharging, which causes the occassional news story about "My Cell Phone Blew UP!".. I have seen a couple deformed and bloated in my day, but still waiting on that exploded one!

Actually the Lion one i linked to does have the no-overcharge feature.

Also Weedahoe what was the point of your post? The purpose of this forum seems to me to be to educate, theirs a lot of people that come here quickly and dont spend the time researching. You dont always get what you pay for, thats kind of the point of this post and also another purpose of ppckitchen and upgrading our old ppcs.

The point of my input was to coincide with what you said in the original post. You said yourself that most were junk. They are either mislabled or misrepresented. They all almost say they are made from generic Japanese cells. Most listing even have bluntly provided contradictional information if you read closely enough. I will say all that I have read (as well as the chargers) seem to have ICs to prevent overcharging.

This is why when most people come here and ask about batteries I try to direct them to get at least an OEM batt or a reputable brand name that actually has the correct capacity and/or will be able to produce or preform under a workload.

Im not trying to take away from the education side of your post but only to reinforce it. As far as I am concerned, you gave your pros and cons and then your conclusional statement. Its not the first time those testing results have corssed paths there but I do agree most people are either lazy or true do not know what all info you can find on the net if you really look.
