hey guys, ive been doing a little research on pricing and quality of after market extended batterys. Specifically about the ones on ebay. Because of the kind knowledgable folks here i am draining the battery faster then ever with all these cool new features im constantly taking advantage of that these guys helped me to unlock. i mount my phone to my motorcycles gas tank, my gps to my handlebars and my headphones around my neck and its great but kills my battery after an hour or so of continous use.
So i went looking for a battery on ebay and came across a TON of very cheap extended batteries ranging from 1800-2600mah with most selling around $10. I was suspicious so i did some googling. Most of the extended batteries on ebay ARE JUNK. Theyre listed as 1800mah to 2600mah but almost all of them are 1800mah no matter what they say.
Now their are a few aftermarket battery makers that are good, they mostly dont sell on ebay though. Their 2 well known dependable makers that ive used; Seidio and Lion (play on Li-ion). They make extended batteries up to 3800mah but they are very expensive. A 2400battery made by them will last almost twice as long as a similar no-name.
Heres a site with a die hard xv6700 user did some very extensive battery tests i'll list the results but he deserves the credit.
Batteries Used:
Seidio 3200mAh ext bat
Seidio 2400mAh ext bat
Lion - 2800mAh ext bat
‘eBay’ no brand 2400mAh ext bat (tests at 1800mah)
OEM slim 1350mAh stock bat
Test - Streaming live audio in Media Player over EVDO signal, backlight on full. Test to simulate ‘normal’ use. If you were using it constantly.
Seidio 3200mAh : 8 hours
Lion 2800mAh : 7 hours
Seidio 2400mAh : 6 hours
eBay 2400mAh : 3 hours, 30 minutes
Stock OEM Battery: 2 hours, 30 minutes
their was another test which was a maxed power use, overclocking, full everything with similar results between batteries.
Now heres the thing the Seidio and Lion batteries are usually lot more expensive they start at $50 and up, and you can get the no-name 1800-2400mah batteries on ebay for around $15. But as you can see they only get you about 30% more life then a stock battery.
Their is only ONE seller who sells a decent battery for our 6700's for under $20.
Its the Lion ebay outlet.
Now
heres the best price/power battery ive found. Tthe Lion 2600mah battery for $15. Plus around $5-8 shipping depending where you live.
This is the lower power Lion battery but its still a lot better then any of the sub $50 batteries on ebay or anywhere. Its cheaper then what the Lion batteries typically sell for. Hope this helps you guys!
