What have you noticed to work better? What problems are you having with this rom you didn't have with the 'Simple for any apache rom'?

Hey! I was looking for that! I ended up using wideawake's no junk ext rom from his 2.2 thread, cutting it up and removing the powerICON and removebattery cabs... works like a charm!

Thanks chill!

I would have a charge on my phone and when i go to bed just set it on my night table for an alarm clock. I'd wake up in the morning and battery is still at 100%. Now I have to recharge a couple of times a day. I haven't loaded up on software other than what I like to have on my Today screen which is Treo PicDialer, rlcalender, and Today Agenda. I have my backlight turned 1 tic from off. Here's an example, battery level at 60%, I receive a phone call and talk for about 7 minutes, check battery level and it's down to 30%. I have two phones here and they both do the same thing. Any ideas?

no MMS fix as of yet. Im having the same problem with battery life.. i was down to 20% by 10 this morning.
Yea, I found the source of my battery drain. It's ActiveSync!!! I remembered that there was a fix for this that I used after upgrading ROM to 2. Dug it out of pdaphonehome and used it and now I have fantastic battery life. Here's the post:

Hi Guys;
I think I have a solution to the Battery drain problem with the XV6700 PDA phone. It looks like Ative sync is trying to come on and sync draining the power from our units. Talked to a verizon tech. who provided the available info. Hope it helps. Sure has been an irritant not being able to trust my phone. Here's the instructions:

Go to program files
Go to active sync
Go to menu
Go to add server source (add a fake server and settings)
Once that is finished
Go to Schedule and set to manual
Go to options and delete exchange server from options

Working good so far. For the first time I have had 90% power all day long. Always before it would go down to 60% power or less in one day with no phone calls or gaming.

Please note that some have reported this "trick" is not compatible with the NEW Sprint AKU2/MSFP Rom update. Others have reported it works with the ROM update if you turn off the network time sync under phone settings

Hope this helps anyone else with short battery life.

What error are you getting? What ROM are you using? Most 3.5 ROMs already have it installed.

I install "everything but device drivers, stuff that sets alarms and Today screen plugins" etc.... basically anything that does not start up WITH the phone on my SD card. some people have told me a lot of programs don't work when you install to the card, but I have had no troubles. If I follow these steps, do I gain anything by unlocking the "extended rom" if I do not use it anyways? Is there a better way to use the extended rom space to allow the device to run faster/smoother??

I have had thsi ROM installed for 3 days now and it looks great. No problems so far but have not activated Sprint service yet. No problems connecting via USB to activesync (but I am just copying files, not sync'ing any data. It is clearly faster and smoother than the 2.2 ROM that I upgraded from.

The only feature that I am missing is voicedial. I know that most people have purchased Microsoft Voice Command but I can't justify it's cost and I actually use the voice dial program. Is there any way to install it?

Thanks to everyone involved in this project, great work!

lockup

I've been running this ROM for a couple days. No additional apps at all. I've been getting a lockup about once a day and have to reset.

The only thing I can think of could be that I have mail attachments set to storage card and there is a problem in there somewhere.
