Battery life

I've been using this new ROM since 3/1. I'm still hoping someone will find a fix for MMS. My concern is poor battery life. I remember before all this ROM stuff, that with moderate use, my phone would easily last at least a day on a charge. I would have a charge on my phone and when i go to bed just set it on my night table for an alarm clock. I'd wake up in the morning and battery is still at 100%. Now I have to recharge a couple of times a day. I haven't loaded up on software other than what I like to have on my Today screen which is Treo PicDialer, rlcalender, and Today Agenda. I have my backlight turned 1 tic from off. Here's an example, battery level at 60%, I receive a phone call and talk for about 7 minutes, check battery level and it's down to 30%. I have two phones here and they both do the same thing. Any ideas?

You should have well over 25MB of main storage memory still free when you're done, a pretty mean feat for an Apache! Oh, and don’t restore from a full system backup as you’ll end up restoring pre-3.5 system files.
So would I be putting the cabs to the programs I use in this extended rom folder?

If so, all I was able to put in that folder were 3 items before I received the "not enough room" message. Did I do something wrong?

My extended_rom2 shows storage capacity of 9.93MB with 7.39MB in use. (this is where I placed the cabs).
Instead of putting cabs there, click on the cabs and select "Extended_ROM2" as the destination.
Thanks J.

Now on to my question- byhaving an extended rom folder, does this mean that if I have to re-flash, I'll still have these programs right here available to me; or.....do they just continue to work without me having to re-install them.

Hope I've asked that right.
The programs will still be there, but the shortcuts and registry entries won't, so you'll have to reinstall them anyway. The Ext_ROM area is just an extra 10MB of space to install programs, leaving you more space in main storage for data.
Jeff, there was a post showing how to make anything in the extended rom install automatically after a hard reset; although that post is a bit old, does the same thing still hold true?

Another question - is there a way to make the extended_rom2 bigger than 10MB?

Hey Jeff, If you do decide on adding some stuff for the next version. How about adding the extended ROM unlocker?

I hate to ask really stupid questions, but where can I download latest release (or pre-release) of the Unifed ROM Project? (The one that you used to cook this ROM, that is.)

This is the pre-release I used: ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Apache/Sfaure0..._r1.2-pre2.rar

The latest build has been posted, but at the request that it not be distributed yet. I think I stepped on some toes by building ROMs off a pre-release kitchen. The final build is on the way.

I built a version that had that, but every time I soft reset it deleted everyting in the Extended ROM! While that would be dandy if you only used the Extended ROM for IE temp files and the like, it made it pretty useless to install stuff there.

Yes and no, respectively.

Weird, you'd think Microsoft's own stuff would be aware of mulitple storage cards. I'll look into it.
