It's a fine basic task-closer, but unlike the alternatives it offers no facility to exclude specific apps from being closed (some apps should always be running or can't handle being force-closed). It also offers so facility to see a list of running tasks. In this way it is not really a task manager--just a true X button (which suits the needs of some people, I'm sure).

And this is totally off the subject, but I've seen so many references to "Wisebar" on this forum it's got me confused. Are people talking about Wisbar or is there really an app called "Wisebar"? If I had just seen it once or twice I'd chalk it up to a spelling error but I'm seeing it written that way constantly so it's making me think I've overlooked something!

it's Wisbar. people just need to learn how to read and spell what they see.

gotcha

It only closes the program on top. 3.5ROMs have the "programs running" icon that can be added to the today screen.

I like it

It still offers no ability to exclude apps you can't (or don't want) to close. And any app that does offer that feature will conflict with X-Button, so you can't include both apps. I think the devs perspective was to include the one that offers both functions (since you can only have one).

But all of this will be moot in due time, as the official kitchen will be available without any of these programs and people can pick and choose whichever one works the best for them.

Thanks for the explanation alwaysbelieve1. I honestly meant no offense--I was thinking maybe there was some other task manager called Wisebar that someone had created to rival Wisbar and wanted to check it out if so.

Something happened just now to my desktop on my computer. I was just trying to open up a file and all of my icons got highlighted and will not go away. They all look as if I dragged my cursor over them to copy them all. Know what I mean? The titles highlighted in blue as if I clicked on them. I have never seen this before and cannot get it to fix. I tried rebooting twice, but still nothing.

Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this?

No idea (try changing your desktop theme?) but that's way of off-topic for this thread don't you think?

I used to do desktop support for a living. R U using Windows XP? if so it is probably a setting found under the properties of My Computer. Then go to advanced and then performance. Adjust the settings found under visual effects. I can't recall which one it is but it will probably be unchecked. Hope that helps.
