Something happened just now to my desktop on my computer. I was just trying to open up a file and all of my icons got highlighted and will not go away. I used to do desktop support for a living. R U using Windows XP? if so it is probably a setting found under the properties of My Computer. Then go to advanced and then performance. Adjust the settings found under visual effects. I can't recall which one it is but it will probably be unchecked. Hope that helps.
