Re: SD card problems

You didn't say...have you reformatted it yet, or just deleted files off of it?

Originally i copied a bunch of music to it but something happened and not everything copied so i took it out of the phone and put it in a usb card read cuz it transfers faster and then formatted it in windows then copied all my music over to it again then i placed the card back in the phone and it said i need to format to make it readable and now the card is unreadable in both the phone or the computer...i try formatting in windows and it says windows is unable to complete the format

Re: SD card problems

Keep in mind the card should be formatted to FAT16. Are you using a built-in multi card reader in your PC or a USB card reader? If it is a built-in MCR then I dont know what to tell you other than to go to your Device Mgr and uninstall it and reboot to let XP reload the drivers for it. If you are using a USN card reader then you also can try to going to your DM and uninstall it and reboot. Reload the drivers (if XP doesnt do it). This is an attemp to get Windows to see the card and let you at least access it so that you can format it to FAT16.

Worse case senario, take it back to the store and have it replaced. If you dont have a reciept or have had it too long then buy one of the same kind and keep it a day or two and put the bad one in the new package and take it back and claim it as not working and get your funds back.

Re: SD card problems

maybe not the same prob I had but I also had to put everything on the card everytime i took it out of the phone but like I said it was the card reader I had, couldn't handle HC cards and would reformat and loose all my data try puting the card in another phone this way you can see if it's the card or your card reader doing the same thing mine was doing hope this helps
