Re: Looking for your OEM ROM?

I have the MSL Code -- but when I enter The ##778#, nothing happens!?
Can I move my number from my Razr to the PPC 6700 at home?

You enter ##778# at the phone dialer?

A standard ESN change with your carrier will switch your mobile number from the Razr to the PPC-6700.

Re: Looking for your OEM ROM?

OK - I have the part figured out to go in and make changes --
I set-up all of my numbers from the Razr to the PPC 6700 -- except for the ESN numbers (I'm a little confused on this part)
Can I do the ESN Swap or doe I now have to go to my Bluegrass Dealer?
(Sorry t be a pest -- your help so far has been priceless).
The ##778# does not do it, I had to do a ##778 Middle Button.
Now all the setting are set-up -- except the ESN Stuff -- Nest Step??
Thanks -

Re: Looking for your OEM ROM?

I have about completed the TASK.
Now the issue(s):
The radio does not work -- it was working because I could call the Bluegrass Customer Service Line -- That means I am on the correct path with the tweaks. But now that I have crossed the T's and Dotted The I's 9most of them anyway) I get an error -- 'THE WIRELESS RADIO IS CURRENTLY OFF. pLEASE TURN IT ON!' -- Then I turn it on but it only goes on then back off.

Also: NAM select has no check marks -- I will click Auto-NAM, it will take the check than just go back off again.

I think I someone can help on this, I can finish.
(I have since update the radio to 1.41.00 is this only for Sprint? Could this be the whole issue?

Any suggestion?

ESN is the phone's electronic serial number, you can't change it. You get ahold of Bluegrass and have them switch your service to the 6700 ESN.

How is your battery charge? If power is low it will automatically turn off the radio. If not, when the phone powers on look at the start screen. The text in red, look at Radio Version. If it says 1.41, good. If it says None, you're toast.

Re: Looking for your OEM ROM?

I show radio, I will see if bluegrass can activate the phone -- I have literaly swapped the ESN using 3 different active Bluegrass ESN's, using a Hex Editor and dumping to the phone. It shows the new ESN in all correct loactions. But when I put the original ESN back in with my current settings, I show signal -- I think I need to try the Bluegrass register my ESN.
Thanks - and I will update after I see if they will active the foreign (SPRINT) ESN.

Re: Looking for your OEM ROM?

Looks like the end for me.
I used
QPST Service Programming to update all settings (I also named it Bluegrass)
The Bluegrass People really tried to help (BIG UPS)
The Registered the ESN and attempted to get it working for me but it never actual allowed a call. I'm sure their is a way but I am forced to give up.
The good thing is, other than my time and energy, Bluegrass didn't charge me anything for the 40 minutes they spent tweaking for me.

Can't say I didn't try.
I did learn alot about CDMA's -- but I hope we switch to SIMS.

Thanks for all of the input......I'll be back.

Ok, this explains a LOT about your problems. Why are you cloning ESNs? It is illegal and unnecessary. All you had to do was call the provider and tell them you got a new phone and you want to do an ESN swap. They take the ESN of the new phone and all that's left is programming the phone number and whatnot into the new phone. Only exception is if Bluegrass is like Sprint, in that they won't activate ESNs of other carriers.
**BTW, if you don't know what you're doing while messing with the ESN you can quite easily brick your phone.**

Yes, I love SIMS. I'm thinking about switching to T-Mobile because I am sick of Sprint harassing me for doing a phone swap every six months.
