Deleting installed programs from custom ROM's

Is it safe to delete programs from custom ROM's? Many of the cooked ROMS have stuff that I don't need and depending on my schedule don't have the time to cook my own.

If it's in the ROM the only way to remove it is to build another ROM. The real question is - Why do you want to delete something? It doesn't cost you any memory or performance if you don't actually run it. Just make sure there's no link in the startup directory. If a program really offends you, you can remove its link from the programs directory as well.

Okay, I am taking the plunge and going to try and make my own ROM!!! If all else fails then I will do as you said and "modify" things here and there.
