xv6700 Stuck at Tap Screen

did you try going through my mobile just to get past the tap/welcome screen? that way you can see if maybe there's other problems with it? You don't need to do anything on the ppc itself, it just auto installs when you open the program.

I tried to get my mobile to work. Some reason its not bringing up the app. I use it with another 6700 just fine. This one that is giving me problems just doesn't seem to like that app. I can see that it gets an ip address (shows connecting on my desktop pc) but doesn't start the Remote Client on the desktop which guessing means its not starting on the ppc either.

So here is where I am at:

I got the phone to connect to my computer. Can explore the filesystem using Windows Explorer from desktop.
Still can not get my mobiler to connect to it (created a shortcut to it on the ppc and put the shortcut in the startup folder).
I got past the welcome screen by overwriting the welcome.exe with a fake welcome.exe and also deleted the shortcut in the startup folder.
Now when the ppc does a soft-reset, I see both splash screens and it will bring up the top bar only. Never get to see the home screen (today screen).
And the touch screen is still not active. Does not respond to any touches at all.
Funny note, I can make a phone call (get the VZW saying phone is not activated yet).

So I am thinking the main board is going out. Cause I have never seen one do this.
Current ROM is totally empty (only put in total commander in hopes to be albe to see the registry from the ppc but can't get that far yet).

When you replaced the digitizer, did you replace the cables also?

I've done both. I replaced the ribbon cable on the back of the LCD/Digitizer. I have 2 cables (one is from a known working touch screen).

Neither one seems to get the touch screen working.
