I've never played with the extrom before, I just put the file in there add the line to the config and hard reset right ? it should do the rest?

Yep, that's it. Unlock and unhide the Extrom. Soft reset to allow the file explorer to see it. Then add the cab and edit the text. You will need to use Total Commander to remove the Read Only attribute before editing and then put it back after. Then hard reset.

I thought the file has to be read only ?

It does, but you will have to turn that off to edit it. Then put it back to read only after editing.

Alright got it, thought you were talking about the .cab file itself (i set it to read only also). The phone is hard resetting now i'll let you know soon

Okay hard reset done, looks like it works fine, the icons show up on the today screen and the left softkey menu is set to spb menu let me know what else I can do

When you choose spb menu and it comes up, are all the icons there or just empty boxes? When you tap the home tab (the battery), does it show all the icons or just the light bulb?

I choose menu, all the icons are there, when I tap on the battery I get the regular set of icons also

Well, that is just strange. At least it narrows it down to a personal issue. Out of curiosity, where did you have it listed in the config.txt?

I had it listed at the very end

CAB: \Extended_ROM\MobileShell.cab

and I used your latest 3.5 rom (no shell errors btw)
