It won't affect your radio and you will still have the latest radio version. As far as the EXT ROM goes you will have to recreate your config.txt to not install the junkware, etc.

This just got posted and i am about to try it. make sure you do above first before trying this so we can eliminate issues.
Registry Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of the Value to add: MTU Type : DWORD Data: 1514 (Value is Decimal)
Registry Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of Value to add: MaxOutTransfer Type: DWORD Data: 1642 (Value is Decimal)
Finally got around to checking out what you posted. Not sure if you are running Vista or not, but I am.

When I go into HKLM there is no Drivers Key. I searched through the registry and there is also no Drivers Key.

This is also my findings on my XP Pro box at work.

I also could not find an RNDIS key.
I am so sorry, no I am not running Vista, I am using XP pro at work and home. Those reg entries are supposed to be made on your phn not the computer. With those entries you no longer have to disable active sync on the computer, just plug and enjoy. Install active sync on your work computer, if you have rights or permissions to do that (I do and I did). then try internet sharing again. Mine works on every xp pro computer I have tried so far not including non active sync computers.

No problem OK, I will make the reg entries on the phone so I do not have to disable USB Connection via AS once I get all this shiznit running

Now, at this point my phone won't even sync with Vista

I may just have to downgrade to 3.3

I did it, I did it, I diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid it!!!!

I have no knowledge of anything PPC related, but last night I decided to install this ROM.

My only experience with flashing anything was my Treo 650. I figured for as many times as I've done it, this shouldn't be thaaaaaat hard.

People have spoke of better speeds; I don't see it. My 6700 isn't running any faster than it was before the ROM.

I do get a "SDDaemon" message - not sure what that about.

I'll come back and edit this post or create a new one when I remember what the other error messages were I am getting.

Also, I've looked all over for how to perform a hard reset and can't find anything that makes clear sense to me.

I guess I'll be jumping up and down with excitement once I attain the great results others have experienced.

hard reset

Scandalex,

to hard reset:

simultaneously press both the soft key buttons (just above the green and red call buttons) and then insert stylus into the reset hole. Hold all three in until the screen shows the reset prompt. At this point you slide open the keyboard and press Y.

with all the AKU 3.x ROM updates, it seems that there is a need to hard reset to remove any remnants of your old ROM image.

I can see my contacts, but I can't open them to edit - only view the fact that they are there.

Before, I could go to a contact, then right click and there was an option to send that contact an SMS. I don't have any right click options within contacts either.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Do I have to flash all over again?

That may explain why I have (2) inboxes, (2) messaging and (2) calculators now. ;(
