with all the AKU 3.x ROM updates, it seems that there is a need to hard reset to remove any remnants of your old ROM image.

That may explain why I have (2) inboxes, (2) messaging and (2) calculators now. ;(
Yup, that'll do it

I have no knowledge of anything PPC related, but last night I decided to install this ROM.

My only experience with flashing anything was my Treo 650. I figured for as many times as I've done it, this shouldn't be thaaaaaat hard.

People have spoke of better speeds; I don't see it. My 6700 isn't running any faster than it was before the ROM.

I do get a "SDDaemon" message - not sure what that about.

I'll come back and edit this post or create a new one when I remember what the other error messages were I am getting.

Also, I've looked all over for how to perform a hard reset and can't find anything that makes clear sense to me.

I guess I'll be jumping up and down with excitement once I attain the great results others have experienced.
Check this out (post for your SDDaemon problems: http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/p...emon-what.html

Not sure if it will help or not but it's worth a try

No problem OK, I will make the reg entries on the phone so I do not have to disable USB Connection via AS once I get all this shiznit running

Now, at this point my phone won't even sync with Vista

I may just have to downgrade to 3.3
make those changes regardless cos It also helps with active sync. I believe this is the answer to your problems. the inf file needed for vista.
try it and let us know the outcome.

Didn't work. I was able to get it to sync though, but I could give 2 Sh!ts about that since I do everything OTA.

I may be replacing the laptop today since the speakers are emitting a low volumed high pitch sound that I can't deal with anymore.

By any chance did you try it with XP pro, just want to see where the problem stems from. Also, I think the original poster of that file did it with the wireless modem and not Internet sharing, so you might want to try that also. Post your findings.

OK. This is all on WinXP.

I started Internet Sharing and it came up USB Device Not Recognized (note: I have NEVER installed my 6700 as a modem on my work PC before)...I went to install the XP Driver and it just would not install.

OK...so now that the Internet Sharing is getting on my nerves...

Wireless Modem. When I launch it I get "COME OPEN ERROR". If I change to BT it starts up just fine. I'll try BT when I get home tonight (Dongle is at home).

Do you have activesync installed? If I am not mistaken, that adds the RNDIS USB driver to xp

I'll tell ya, I couldn't be happier with this rom.

I don't notice any major issues with it.

The minor ones were:

Had to do the "disable flight mode" hack, never needed it in the past.
No bubble breaker - I don't care about it, and it keeps my buddy from borrowing my phone to play it (bonus)
Need to figure out how set up my hotmail account, even though I rarely use it.
Having to install "phone codes" to get the ##codes working is a very minor inconvenience. But it would be cool if it weren't necessary.

Gotta give this build 2 thumbs up.

Is PUSH not working in 3.5? I can't remember if I read that it was or was not working...
