Verizon

Saridnour, before I upgrade please verify that this version will not make changes that impact Verizon phone operation. I ask this as I'd rather be safe than sorry. From reading the readme.doc included it indicates changes to the radio image version.
Thanks for your efforts!

cya: Roms like this are carrier dependent, But any Rom can brick your device so use at your own risk. If your not sure what is going on or what you are doing, I would recomend against using any rom. You may want to read up a bit on the threads as these will indicate what the contents are and what they do. The more you know, the better off you are

Verizon

Saridnour, thanks for the quick reply. I am aware of the usual disclaimers and have done my due diligences, just short of examining the contents of your rom. I've been using Helmi_C's AKU3.3 and have had no problems with previous rom installations. I just figured that asking you if you made this carrier dependent before I installed was better than asking the board for help to get my "brick" functional later. Thanks again for the work!

Actually, Saridnour meant to say that these ROMs (at least the ones that he releases) are carrier independant. In other words, it shouldn't matter whether you're on VZW or Sprint. Extended ROMs is what you DON'T want to mix. But like Saridnour mentioned, you might want to read up on that first.

By the way, I have VZW and I've had no problem using his ROMs on my phone...[/i]

Verizon

D1zzl3, that's the info I suspected but after some of the problems other Verizon users have had with rom / ext_rom installs seemed like a prudent question to ask. Thanks for your post and glad to here that we Verizon users can install this rom knowing that you've had success.

rlith: wasn't sure what your issue was the first time. Did you see my first reply? Did it work with my 3.3, any 3.3 versions? Did you look right after the first boot after a hard reset, without loading anything from yuor extended rom?

Anyone else seeing this?

Sorry, didn't see your 1st message...

Hard reset, upgrade, hard reset... extended_rom is the same as extended_rom2 just shows up as the latter on the xv6700's usually. I can access the rom with total commander if I manually put it in the path, but it doesn't show up as an option in file explorer as it does with 3.3 and below (this is with the open extended rom hack)

The not seeing my storage card is after the hard reset, upgrade, hard reset again. So essentially at that point it's a virgin phone. :{

rlith: are you alowing any apps to be auto installed from the extended? was this happening on other AKU 3+ roms as well. May be an issue with the extended rom hack and later aku roms possibly... Not sure what to say as no one else has reported this as an issue. Willing to help where I can, but donlt know to start on this one.

josephaoliva: I am having issue with .net as well I will have tp take a look at the install ans see whats missing reg/files. I will see if I can get it fixed in a patch or in the next release.
