Saridnours’ AKU 3.5+ Rom. Current 3/19 v3.5pr5 w/SP1

With the popularity of my 3.3+ ROM, I decided to port my changes to the AKU 3.5 build. Since this is a copy of my build I have replaced the registered apps with the trials where necessary. I highly recommend registering wisebar as it is the best task manager out there. I have found it VERY useful! Sorry I had to use trials, but I couldn't post reg apps, but when these are used together this rom really shines.

This is a hybrid of AKU 3.5 and WM6. Current Version 3.5pr5 (03-07@11:50PM PST)

There is an incompatibility issue with Wisebar and the "USB to PC" control pannel applet. You need to turn off Wisebar for this applet to load. (USB to pc is only used to have Activesync use an earlier version of the connection protocol to get past some issues. This applet is rarely used) I am verifing that this bug is known to the author of the app.

Everything is set to load at start that needs to be running (with the exception of *voice command, see below). So Wisbar will load at start and use the settings I found to work well.

I removed everything that I felt was junk which includes the MSN apps, help files, doc templates, sample images, and other non-useful junk (at least junk to me). There was a lot removed.

*NOTE1: Voice command had the EXE removed as this is commercial software. All you need to do is copy your EXE in to the windows dir, create a shortcut to the startup folder and map your button to the exe (recomend using button #5.

*NOTE2: There is a fix for AD2p Skipping for the first few seconds of the song. This happens in Mediaplayer more than anything else. Basicly the fix will scale the quality of the audio. I did not notice that large of a change from high values to low and picked the value that worked without skipping nearly 100% of the time in WMP. This value can be raised if you use another app TCPMP can use a higher value also if you notice degraded audio this can be set higher if you don't mind the skipping for the first few seconds. Value to modify is:

"Bitpool"=dword:0000001e
Decimal values range from 58-30 (Highest to lowest)

Ok that being said, let me know what you find as I have been testing with my registerd app version and not this buid. Although they are very similar things could differ. Also if you see any personal data or registration in any app please let me know so I may get it removed. There were a lot of changes in the registry and I had to merge my addtions to the new registry hives for 3.5.

To install, unzip the package. Place your device in boot loader mode and run the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe to get the install going. Do a hard reset after teh update conculdes. (both soft buttons held while re-setting, not what is depicted in the app). Also set the date and time on the welcome screen. Not sure but the trials may expire when you later update the date/time.

1- MS VC media player control fix
2- VC BT gateway fix (allows headset to call up vc)
3- Enable cleartype in landscape, quality 2.
4- added link for notes to start menu
5- added solitare back in and set link in games w/updated graphics.
6- Change AKU version info to reflect patch install ("SAR.3.5.pr4sp1")
NOTE: A hard reset will clear the sp1 addtions. If you hard reset you will need to re-install the cab just like any other app or patch.

After doing a hard reset (after the rom flash), the phone becomes unaccessible unless you close the xcpuscaler program (exit out of it). Also, I am not able to remove the programs if I wish to (xcpuscaler or wisbar), is that supposed to happen?

wow, i was planning on flashing the 3.3 R3 ROM you created (lots of ice here in nj means no work for me) but i will be doing this one instead!

One question, if i decide that i want to use the full version of XCPUscalar, do intall the full app...or do i replace the executable in the windows folder? I understand if you cannot answer due to legality issues, but i just want to find the best way to use the full version of this app because i like it.

Not too saavy with the ROM cooking, but if its reasonable i would also like to alter the ROM so that i have the full version instead of the trial.

- Excel and ppt (added from r2)
- Pimg and Outlook read/send (fixed from r2)

These apps are critical to me. Since I just flashed recently I would like to avoid re-flashing until I confirm that they are in this version.

I can get into the extended_rom2 but it won't show up in file explorer

Nice!!! I'm going to give it a try to see how it is and hopefully GOODLINK will run on it then I'll be set! If not, I may just keep it anyway and use a Motorola Q we have at the office for work mail.
