I got my contact picker working by replacing the GAC_Microsoft.WindowsMobile files with a copy from a working ROM. File comparison shows they are older then the ones in the kitchen, although I thought there was only the one version.

The working one looks legitimately signed, the other shows "Stinger Privileged Root". Not sure what that is.

I've attached the ones that are working for me. They're all basically different, but I didn't bother trying to figure out which ones specifically pertain to the problem, they all got replaced on mine.
Attached Files
File Type: zip gac_wm_107.zip (118.4 KB, 40 views) Click for barcode!

isamu, can you give IDTransfer a try and see if it will run as well? I am pretty sure I tried replacing the GAC files, but I may have missed something. If you can confirm that it works, it will help a lot. Thanks.

It does install and run, I get the dialogue to hide. I don't have a bluetooth headset with me so i can't actually test and I haven't been following that issue so i'm not sure where that one was failing.

OK, I removed the GAC files and the program fails with the file or assembly not found error.

Nice work. I will throw them into a rom and try it out. Stupid question, but just want to confirm that you are using 3.5, correct?

I just copied those files into the windows folder in your custom rom. Clicked on id transfer and the error window did not come up. I restarted the ppc and tried caller Id through the BT headset and it worked like a charm. I am basically saying that for people who already have their roms and dont want to wait for a fresh rom, just copy the files over and you will be okay. Thanks Isamu49.

Where do I put all the .dlls in gac_wm.zip? Just copy them to the Windows directory on my phone?

One more question since I am sure I tried this before. Did you pull these from a 3.3 or somewhere else?

These actually came off my i730, but i'd imagine the ones from the 3.3 should work, they don't have the odd signatures.

I checked, it's like 3 different versions of the "same" 1.0.0.0 files. Maybe for different devices classes, dunno.

Interesting. I know I tried subbing in the poutlook and status files, but I may not have tried all of them from 3.3. Regradless, if this works, might as well go with it.

Do you have a dump from your i730? If you do and you could upload it I would appreciate it. The more sources to try files from the better.
