ignore the LockLevel key inside the LockLevel folder...RENAME the folder to LockLevelx...i tried various other strategies but this caused the phone to eventually recreate the LockLevel folder with the proper key inside...but this time the key was set to 0 instead of 1. it's been 2 weeks with multiple soft resets and the backlight settings have been surviving as they should...

Thanks Weedahoe, I'll try this and post my results. Now...I haven't really messed around in the HKCU or the HKeyLocal stuff I see people posting about so i will have to do a little research. I saw it once before but since I didn't need it I didn't pay much attention....I'll get it. Any recommedations to look?

these are registry tweaks/hacks, change only what you must and only what you know. Its like messing with DNA, if you go to the left you can make a device better, if you go to the right, you can crash the device. Go through my sig and you can see what all tweaks and hacks I have done and my device is extremely streamlined, fast and stable.
