Re: WiFi..Connected, But no access. Help! <<
I assume you know the $5 for your WAP and your WiFi in your home are two different things. If you are connected via WiFi lemme ask you a few Qs
1. what router do you have? 2. what type of encryption are you using? 3. if you look in your device after it says you are connected, what is the IP address it shows that you have? For instance, once you are connected go to Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Wireless LAN and in here what is your IP address? Or go to you Wireless Manager and go to Menu -> WiFi Settings -> Network Adapters -> tiacxwln Compatable Wireless Ethernet and the same IP should be in here also.

Re: WiFi..Connected, But no access. Help! <<
It's a linksys router, WEP encryption. My laptop and Wii both have no trouble connecting to the signal and using the internet.
Yeah, the IP addresses were the same in both the tiacxwln adapter card (is this the one that uses the net? ...Wondering why there are like 8 adapter cards in there) and the wifi settings. What *if* the IP's were different? Same, "Page you request cannot be found" ![]() really weird. There was one other guy I found through google who had the same problem in 2006, but nobody responded to his forum post, lol. Thanks for the help so far, I'll keep trying. |

Re: WiFi..Connected, But no access. Help! <<
If the IPs were different then possibly somewhere an IP would be 'hard coded' into the device and not poosibly one not in the DHCP range of the linksys router and thus causing the issue. I assume you have your Linksys set to a mixed broadcast mode of 802.11b AND g right? Because every decent and new computer out there will do 802.11g while the 6700 will only do b band.
On my device (sometimes) when I connect to my WiFi I will open IE and it will bring open the first page (because it is cached) but when I try to go to another page it will close out completely and w/o warning. I feel this is because I have moved all the directories for the temp and cache over to the card. So with it still connected to WiFi I just soft reset and let it boot back up on its own and reconnect on its own and then I can surf to where ever I want then and w/o issues. You could always try a diff browser to make sure that is or isnt the issue. |

Have you tried deleteing the WiFi settings? Go start-settings-connections-wifi. You should see a list of Access Points - Tap&Hold and select Remove Settings. Remove all of them and start from scratch... it's worth a shot.

Yup...my wifi is set to a mixed b & g signal. I've performed the soft reset while connected and still get the same error, unfortunately... "The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again". This is for -any- website. Really bizzare...definently frustrating

I didnt know Yahoo had a browser. Can you provide a link? One last thing I can think of is sync and stay connected and see if you can surf through your PC. Other than that, I am out of ideas other than telling you to back everything up and hard reset and see what you get.

One last thought, have you tried powering on/off the router. Power cycling the whole network helped to give out IP addresses when I installed a range expander. I would get connected by the network and still have the "limited or no connectivity" warning and no internet. Still sounds like the IP address is not quite right but I don't know why....
Was that Yahoo thing Yahoo! 3.0 Go beta? It won't load on 6700s, just Nokia I thought. Also, have you ever tried to connect to any other WIFI that is unsecured? Like a coffee shop or something? Could rule out a problem with your home network or point to hardware problem (e.g. WIFI adapter bad). Last edited by gambatte; 04-24-2008 at 09:56 PM. |

Re: WiFi..Connected, But no access. Help! <<
Ok, I've now been successfully connected to 4 different wifi networks, fully connected, full signal, matching IPs....and the webpages still give me the same error. There has to be some simple fix for this inside the phone programming....
![]() ![]() Oh and that other browser is "Yahoo! Go 2.0" it is in beta. I got this phone off ebay and it was pre-loaded into it. |
