Re: MMS problem!! no data plan!
Correct, w/o a data plan you cannot to true MMS. You will have to do your pics over email whether is be POP of HTTP. It sucks and we all know this but thats just the way it is.

Re: MMS problem!! no data plan!
Someguys "sMMS" <----if you are on Sprint
http://67.228.199.237/forum.ppcgeeks...ad.php?t=22509 will also work with Wifi and is a very simple MMS program and a must have if you are on Sprint, I have sent friends MMS with wifi so i know it works, Sprint has a $5.00 PictureMail Service but at .03kb it can add up but I dont know if using wifi to will also charge you for accessing Picmail, to me it would be "No" if you are using Wifi instead of Vision..but you better ask a sprint rep on that. So if you dont get charge...all it will be is $5.00 with Wifi access to access picmail. http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/options.do You will still need Picmail Service to use "sMMS" cause you need to enter your "PhoneNumber and Password" to your Picmail account.

Re: MMS problem!! no data plan!
Well, I have a 6700 with verizon, and no data plan, and I figured out that i can get MMS thru the standard mail system, but what would happen is, when it tries to connect to data service, if i'm in EVDO it will fail. so since i'm only using wifi for real data, i forced the phone into 1x mode, and i can send and receive MMS just fine. connecting data for MMS isn't charged even without a data plan. as long as you have pix/flix msgs enabled on your account. hope that helps
edit: just remember to disconnect from data service after you send, and or receive the message |
