@bootheresa - I haven't tested the audio.exe, but it should work the same as before. Does it not keep the audio gateway at the BT headset? But yes, with VC 1.6 it is normal for it to close the audio gateway automatically (VC 1.5 did not do that), which is why we need the audio.exe to manually open it up. If it's not working though let me know.
@avaya - Well I haven't examined the VC 1.6 cab in detail, but that cab is actually responsible for deleting that entry, so if you can edit the cab to not only preserve the entry but also modify it to point to rundll32.exe then you won't have to make the change yourself. And yeah, if you put voice command in rom then you can bake in this entry and be good to go. |

I have audio.exe. I just say audio when MSVC opens and the gateway opens and I start listening to music. Everything is working normal for VC 1.6 then. Just having use of the buttons make this worth doing. Thanks BOO

Ok, using colonels rom. button five always worked... was getting sd and vc both launching on button press. way for it to be ONLY VC? with your patch only sd launched. unpatched and uninstalled sd. now ok. but miss the sd.

Heh, I'm sorry I'm having a little trouble understanding your last message. Do you actually want both programs installed and functioning? If so, may I ask why? I guess theoretically you could use cyberon for calling your contacts w/ tags and use MSVC for all the things cyberon can't do (incoming call announcements, dialing by number, launching programs, etc.).
But no worries, there's no reason you can't have both apps. If you set the path statement in the registry exactly to what I set above (followed by a soft reset--don't neglect that step) then pressing the BT headset button will only bring up Voice Command. |

I jave intigrated this in my ROM 3.5pr3+, but found it was causing an issue. When you lock the phone, as long as the unit is awake, you should be able to press button five to activate vc, but it fails. When you unlock the phone it works normaly. As soon as I remove your hack and reset I am again able to lock the phone and hae access to vc by button 5. The reg key is set to ignore the lock (default value of vc) and this is the only other thing I am changing out. Is anyone else seeing this or is it specific to my ROM?

Saridnour - I don't understand how you can remove this hack and still use VC on button 5? Without this hack, button 5 will only do notes and record. The hack is what allows you to assign button 5 to VC (or whatever else).
Does it work properly if you put in this hack but assign VC to a button other than #5? If so, that may be the workaround. Just swap the functions of buttons 4 & 5 or something (since both buttons have press & press + hold functions). Edit: Also (not that I think that it will help with this issue but) instead of putting in the path to rundll32.exe, you may want to just leave the path data blank--that seems to work fine to restore button 5 access without the need to actually link it to an executable. A user on another forum figured that out. I have been meaning to update the main post here and the cab file. I will do that now. |
