Problems with MiniSD card...

Please help...

I have had my Verizon 6700 for a few weeks now. I picked up a new phone on ebay, the apparent condition was actually new when I received it. It did not come with a memory card at all.

My 4GB MiniSD card finally showed up last night. Also bought on ebay, it doesn't appear to be SDHC.

When I insert the card into the phone, the phone wakes up, same when I remove the card. But every app on the phone says there is no card installed. I then put the card in my desktop system & formatted it, put files on it - so I know the card works.

Tonight, I'll see a buddy that has the same phone & I'll try his 2GB card that works in his phone.

But does anyone have any ideas why it is not acknowledging the card?

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

Do you have the drivers installed for the SDHC 4gb that will allow the 67 to read beyond 2gb.

Post 13/14 will have the SDHC drivers.

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

When I connect it to my desktop, it calls it out as SD, not SDHC.

But nonetheless, I installed the one in post #13. it ran, rebooted, nothing. I then tried to install the one in post #14, it was unsuccessful at installing, even after uninstalling the first one.

I've also installed FlashFormat & it detects no storage card.

Any other ideas, anyone?

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

well then I would say....get your friends 67 card that you know for sure it works...try it out on your 67....if it still does not work then I would load an official rom if it does not have one...and if so just start with a hard reset...if it still does not work....you just might have a bad phone at the end and maybe that is why it was on ebay.

BTW did you format using Fat16?

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

Alright, popped my buddy's 2GB card in & it worked perfectly. My 4GB card works in the desktop PC, but only when using the USB adapter.

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

I dont see where anyone has pointed out that the card needs to be FAT(16) and by default the phone only regconizes 2gb so you may wanna do two partitions of 2gb and each being FAT

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

Alright, looks like it was formatted FAT32. I just formatted as FAT, and still nothing. Is there as easy method of partitioning the card? I'm looking it up right now...

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

You could stick the card in the PC and right click on My Computer and go to Manage and then Desk Management where you will be able to split the card in half and partition. I personally do not know if FAT32 will work but I can tell you my card is FAT16.

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

Unfortunately, as others have mentioned... The SDcard has all partitioning functions grey'd out in the Disk Manager.

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

The only means I can find of partitioning the 4GB card seems pretty in-depth & beyond what most users would consider to be simple.

Are there any "simple" ways to do this???
