Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

use the format command in the DOS prompt to format your card to FAT16 if you are having issues with windows graying it out

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

Formatting the card is no problem.... it's trying to partition the card that's a problem.

Windows Disk Manager has all partitioning functions grey'd out.

The only method of partitioning a removable media card that I found involves formatting as a bootable disk, then altering cmos settings to boot from the card (if your particular mobo will allow it), then using fdisk to partition it (figuring that windows will now see the card as a main drive), then formatting the 2 partitions as normal. Of course this comes with the disclaimer that if not careful, you may accidentally re-partition your actual hard drive. Which I've had happen to a few times before, because windows likes to change drive letters around to make larger drives be the C: drive. Lost more MP3 than most people will ever see, that way, hehehehehe....

Seems to that there's got to be an easier way...

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

Tsk Tsk Tsk, re-read the 2nd post on this thread and then go read the link you just provided and see if you can find the common link between the two.

You issue could have been resolved 8 days ago had you chked on the SDHC drivers than Unknown Zone suggested. Oh, well, live and learn. Glad you got it resolved. PM UZ and tell him THX

I had tried both of those apps. The first one didn't work. Then the second one wouldn't even install. I then uninstalled the first & the 2nd still wouldn't install.

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

Well i stand corrected, at least you tried. Still, glad to see you got it resolved.

Side Q. What is it exactly that you plan on doing with a 4gb card. I mean, I have a 1gb with plenty of room and I have an iPhone with 8gb with 6.5 left and most of that is pics. Now at home I have a 500gb and a 320gb HDD that almost always stay full but that is data and apps. I just dont see how or what you guys do to fill up your phone.

Re: Problems with MiniSD card...

Can never have too much space.

But I actually won this card on ebay for $11. The plan isn't to fill it up, but to NOT run out of space.
