HOW TO: Install aku3.3 on an XV6700

In order to flash your xv6700 device to 3.3 using Hemi_C's file:
You cannot just run the .exe from windows without putting your phone in bootloader mode first!!!!![/
To put your 6700 in boot loader mode: Press power, record, and reset simultaneously.. the screen should go dark and say "serial" at the top.. plug in usb cord and "serial" the screen should then change to "usb".. Now you can launch the ApacheAKU3.3.exe file proceed with launching the exe file on your pc. When it is done, push the reset button and let it restart.

You Must Hard Reset After The Install Is Complete

Normal resets will only cause problems. You must hard reset. Do this by pressing both soft keys and reset at the same time. The screen should turn white and prompt you to press Y on the keyboard.


you should have no problems with the install. Once it is done, reset it a couple times (pushing the reset, boot up... then reset again)

same way for every apache but into bootloader (power, notes, and soft reset all at the same time). Turn off firewalls connect to usb and flash!

I agree a step by step instruction would be nice. I want 3.3 but I need to find a step by step for dummies. I can do hacks and load programs but this has totally confused me. I think a 1,2,3 instruction would benifit not only me but many lurker on this site. Thanks.

Try reading my custom aku2.2 thread located on the 3rd or 4th pge of the apache section. It has good instructions....

I was able to flash my device to the 3.3 but now when it is in bootloader mode and it goes to the loader screen where it is supposed to tell me the name of the image, it doesn't list a name and goes almost immediately to the finish screen with out updating. What am I doing wrong? I am in bootloader mode and connected to the USB cable.

ok.. so I got it working but it wont sync my contacts, it says "Not enough memory" when there is like 38megs left.

It also wont let me create or look in my contacts list. Anyone else have this problem?

It was a bad cable causing intermittent issues.
