Saridnours AKU 3.3x+ Rom

Ok was going to post a rom, then didn't as I added all my registered and comercial stuff to my rom. But the rom works and works well and thought I would go ahead and replace the registered bits with the trial apps and post it back on here. If you like the apps register them. I have found them VERY useful! Sorry I had to do all the trial stuff, but I couldn't post reg apps, but when these are used together this rom really shines.

This is a hybrid of AKU 3.3, 3.5 and WM6. Current Version R3

Things of intrest:
- WM6 RDP client
- 3.5's util apps (incuding the new features in wireless lan)
- WM6 sounds
- WM6 splash and theme
- *MS Voice command integrated (exe missing, see below)
- SPB imageer (trial)
- RAR
- tetris clone game
- pNotepad
- vjcandelite
- Wisebar (trial) task management and start menu addon <-NICE!!
- XCPUscaler (trial) Can not scale in trial, but scaling is the way to go.
- new fonts
- new today tsk themes
-new alarms
- .net cf2
- tcpmp .072rc1 w/ac3 (last free version)(added from r2)
- clear temp app (added from r2)
- additional AKU 3.5 systems files (GWES, ie files, coldinit, etc)(added from r2)
- wmodem (fixed from r2)
- Excel and ppt (added from r2)
- Pimg and Outlook read/send (fixed from r2)

Everything is set to load at start that needs to be running (with the exception of *voice command, see below). So Wisbar and xcpu will load at start and use the settings I found to work well.

I removed everything that I felt was junk wich includes the MSN apps, help files, doc templates, sample images, and other non-useful junk (at least junk to me). There was a lot removed.

*NOTE: Voice command had the EXE removed as this is comercial software. All you need to do is copy your EXE in to the windows dir and create a shortcut to the startup folder and it will be functional and mapped to button #5.

There are a number of reg tweaks and most of the apps are compressed to save room. This should make for a good out of the box experience as (other than reg trialware) it is a good working package.

Should install to less than 2.5 meg of user storage.

Ok that being said, let me know what you find as I have been testing with the reg apps. And we all know nothing is perfect

To install, unzip the package. Place your device in boot loader mode and run the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe to get the install going. Do a hard reset after teh update conculdes. (both soft buttons held while re-setting, not what is depicted in the app). Also set the date and time on the welcome screen. Not sure but the trials may expire when you later update the date/time.

You can download here: ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....KU_3.3x-r3.zip <-Updated 2/10

Earlier builds and patches:
ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....KU_3.3x-r2.zip

Patch for r2. Fixes:
- Fixes Pimag.exe so it will load and reverts defaults back to it. (If you like spbimageer you can re-associate it by setting file types in options, I never saw an issue with it as the default but know not everyone will use it and why I reset the origianl config)
- Fixes pOutlook so you can now read, create, edit, etc. Should be back to full functions.
- moves iexplorer cache/temp back to main memory (prevents DOD issue)
File:ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....3x+_r2_Fix.cab

Patch for r2 to get Power point and Excel apps back. These will install to storage memory and will take up about 3 meg of space so I would not recoment this unless you need them. This will be intirgated into the nect release (r3) and will not take storage space at that point.

Was this done in the ROM Kitchen or the other way?

If possible, can you post the list of actual (stock, ie, OS) files changed in this ROM, and does your USB sync work? Because this is a nice intermediate step between 3.3 and 3.5 and would be interesting to get a kitchen version of it.

Oh, and does BT PAN work???

It was done, "The other way"
USB sync does work.
Have not tested BT PAN as I don't teather.

I really did not keep a complete list of all changes so this would be difficult to do. I did my best to relate the what I changed but as to a defacto list of all changes I can not go into that. All of the standard .exe and relating dll's were copied from a 3.5 aku and most of them did not seem to be different. I did not copy or make changes to any of the core OS files as this was just asking for a break in the code.

Edit: Cross Posted... Anyway the file is now up on ppcgeeks and current on the first post.

crencom:
chck your file size, it should be 50.3 mb. I had to move the share from my server as the bandwidth was killing my connection. You may have an incomplete file.

I Didn't know the demand was going to be that great. I am relocating it to the ppcgeeks ftp share now. The transfer is just taking some time.

I'm getting a "file corrupted! Please run a virus check, then reinstall the application." Error. Looks like the problem is with XCPUScaler

eyeballz: .netcf2 is included. Adding other aps to the list as I remeber them

jokeman3000: where are you seeing this error? I downloaded what Iposted and it extracted fine.

schettj: extract the dump from the nk.nbf, only takes a min and will save grief having both sets posted.
