Sending/receiving texts with pictures?

I have the xv6700 and updated with the 6.1 kitchen, but I can't figure out how to send or receive texts with pictures. If someone sends me a text with a picture, I don't receive anything. And if I attempt to send one, even using nueMMS, they still do not receive anything from me.

Try sMMS Picturemail Composer found in the PPC Software section on the Forum. I can verify that it works(ed) for the Apache. Receiving, I'm afraid is still through the picmail site through Sprint. You may have to sign up for this and get username and password to enter into sMMS.

I don't know what network you're on, but I'm not sure it's possible. I'm with Telus and we've been told emphatically there's no support for picture SMS through the handset. If I want to receive a picture text, I have to go to a Telus provided web site and download the file.

The only way for me to send/receive pictures is through email, or get the SMS and then download the file later.

You might want to try this..it seems to fix alot of SMS issues:

When the phone is going through a hardreset and when it says "customizing in 3 seconds" something to that effect do a soft reset, and it should loads up fine! Dont worry if you mess it up....just do another hardrest and do over.

Remember to backup your contacts...you will lose them on a hardreset.

Also,

If you are using nueMMS in the "auto" mode via "PktPic" extension it seems that the server is down or just stop working. I found out from my friends that were not recieving picmail when I was talking about it, but if I used the carrier extension from the drop down menu it worked sort of...lol.

If I sent one pic and wrote text in the text body the message would not send texts but the pic would go.

If I sent two pics and wrote text in the text body the message would send text and pic.

Now if you sent one or two etc..pics and wrote texts in the subject line...it would send both text (subject) and pic...one or two...etc..with no problelm.

I am using Verizon Wireless. The thing I don't understand is that if someone sends me a text that has a picture attached, I do not get any notification, I don't even get the text. So basically, if someone sends me a text with a picture, I don't get anything at all. And when I attempt to use nueMMS, the same thing happens, it says it sends it okay, but the person doesn't receive anything at all from me, not even a blank text.

Same thing with me RampantLion...I just upgraded to WM6.1. No mms. I think it has something to do with when it goes in and out of data. You do have to have the extra $45/month data plan to get mms. One day, I did a manual download from a ringtone site on my 6700, and BOOM, all of a sudden I had like 15 picture mail messages. No clue man.... I'm so nubish it's sickening.

did you try anything that I suggested for troubleshooting? If you have the same plan like Leejin

or reload an "official rom" wm5 and see if the problems are still there.

It will prolly fix the issue, but it's not worth it to me at all...

I've been so spoiled with the wm6.1 Build.

It is called "Troubleshooting"

For you 6.1 is awesome but for Ramp this is what people have to deal with when going to an non official/unsupported rom...that is why they are called that, but to each there own. Maybe Ramp will be able to solve the issue..or just deal with it or maybe go back to 6.0 or even a hacked 5.0

Remember not every phone is built and used the same..6.1 might work on one phone but will be a nightmare on another.

As you can see from my sig, there is nothing wm6/6.1 offers me that i am doing with my current rom wm5, which has been solid as a rock since day one.

You do not need to have a data plan to receive MMS on VZW.

I have VZW with a 6700 and NO DATA PLAN at all. Just beware that you will incure kb data charges ($0.02/kb you download).

My wife and friends send me MMS all the time. I have my data turned off but I get the notices that I have new mms waiting to be downloaded.
I then turn on Data Connection (using Advanced Config from Schap's Tool) and then proceed to download the pict messages.
Works really well. And I do the same when I want to send a pic message as well.
