Resco and phoneAlarm

Does anyone know were to put my Resco and phoneAlarm registration key in the OEM registry so that I don't have to re-enter after a hard reset? I have searched the registry, but I can't seem find where it is...

thanks,
Ron

I don't have registered versions of these tools so I can't help you directly, but here are the steps needed to work this out yourself...

1. Get a registry editor that lets you export your registry. I use PHM Registry Editor for this...
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/

2. Perform a hard reset

3. Install the registry editor

4. Export your registry. In PHM this is done by tap-holding "My Device" and selecting "Export..."

5. Register each tool

6. Re-export your registry to a new file.

7. Copy the registry exports to your PC

8. Compare them using a merge tool. I use WinMerge for this...
http://winmerge.org/
...you may need to open and save each registry file in Notepad so WinMerge doesn't consider them binary files.

Though there will be a few unrelated changes (such as the key that stores the current date/time), the changes that capture the serials should be highlighted and fairly easy to find.

Thanks very much Kolano. I will do this. I was hoping someone already had figured out the location of the keys for these programs. When I figure them out I will let everyone know.

Also, and a little faster, you can search the registry after registering the apps. For instance, if your registration code is 123456, do a search of the registry for 123456. This will now work all the time, but usually does. And it is worth a shot while you are dumping the reg anyway.

Yup. Tried searching. This worked for most my other OEM's. For some reason the key is not found...it must be converted after you enter it....

thanks for the help!

Johnny2678_iGuidance3.0.1 (GPS NAV Software - EXE required)
Johnny2678_GoogleMaps1.2.0.1

iGuidance is licensed software so you must add the iGuidanceQVGA.exe from your copy to get it up and running.

Enjoy!

edit: Updated Google Maps to todays release

I just posted an OEM of version 0.72 of S2U2 in my folder in the New Core OEMs folder on the FTP. I haven't had time to build it into my ROM, but feel free to give it a try. I based it on the Naigaboy version in the kitchen and I was too lazy to give it a new uuid, so you'll need to remove the existing Slide2Unlock folder from the PPCGeeks_OEM.rar file or you'll get a duplicate uuid error when you run BuildOS.

Let me know how it works.

Edit: Just changed the UUID, so it should not give a conflict.
