Haus you were right, and you cursed me :)

My BT no longer work with VC 1.6, whenever I try it now it locks up my device and then I have to hard reset. It started happening when I reset my device with BT on. Usually I do not leave BT on unless I am using it.

I tried to reflash and now it will not work again, not sure why it work at first but no more, it won't work with the non modded version of kitchen either just like you said, so thanks for killing my fun.

I have gone back to the first released AKU3.3 which BT and VC work together, would be nice to mod the orignal release but wideawakes mod tools are a bit confusing to me.

My custom AKU 3.3 (link in my sig. line) doesn't seem to have the BT problem. I built it from Mike's method instead of the kitchen, so maybe you could give that a try.

I agree. Using the pre-ROM Kitchen method works perfectly; that's what I ended up doing.

What I can't figure out is why all these other folks using the Kitchen-based ROMs aren't having trouble. Like I said, I was having problems on a *stock* build with nothing but VC1.6 installed - literally nothing else. Either there's something finnicky about certain phones, or not as many people use VC1.6 as I thought.

Sorry to curse you, buddy - I was really hoping you had a solution! Follow what 6700Yuma said - use the old method, it really works.

hmm, with all the testing i have done of diff roms lately, most of the time i havent even bothered to put VC 1.6 back on the phone. I'll have to keep an eye out for that as well, as i was more into making sure performance of the OS itself was up to snuff rather than an addon program not part of the rom itself..

That's a good point - I wonder how many people do the same thing. I just finished building my custom ROM last night (basically Helmi's release of 3.3 with the patches) and I'm testing it now with everything I use to see how it "takes". There are some weird interactions. For example, if I close Wireless Manager with HandySwitcher, it either toggles my WiFi or puts the phone into flight mode. Fortunately Wireless Manager fully closes on its own when you press the "x" button or the "Exit" softkey, so this isn't a big deal for me. Not to mention I almost never use Wireless Manager.

Voice Command is such a big deal to me, and BT is so integrated into the operation of the system, that I always tested it first on every ROM.

I have tried but I get a mental block when I read Mike's instructions ( no offense Mike if others got it to work so should I you would think), I get really lost for some reason and gave up on it. Guess I am going to put the nose to the grind stone and try to make it work, I really liked the idea of removing stuff I don't use.

GUYS-

I think we already determined that the helmi 3.3 .exe is a different build than the helmi kitchen rom. I believe every person who is using a kitchen based rom has the same problem with the BT and Voice command 1.6. I tried to reverse engineer the functioning helmi .exe in order to turn it into a kitchen, but once I get it to a "Dump" folder, I don't know how to have it convert to an OEM, ROM, OS, etc. folders. I'm sure Helmi has another program (opposite of createos.exe) that will do it, but he hasn't responded yet.

Helmi- Can you tell us how to take turn a dump folder into a kitchen (OEM, ROM and OS folders)? In the alternative, can you turn your Helmi .exe file that is on this site into a kitchen rom for us since it seemed to work better than the kitchen rom we downloaded from xda.

Just remember to keep backups of your default.txt and user.txt files every time you do an edit that parses OK. That's my advice...saves a lot of time and frustration. I never changed boot.hv/rgu or whatever it's called.
