Re: Live Search on Verizon DSL WIFI WEP

Doh! Mobile Live Search it is then. I use that on my other phone. Installing it to the 6700 now. wls.live.com redirects to a page under m.live.com for downloading. Can you get to m.live.com from PIE?

Update:
This is a little odd - it searches and returns results via wifi, but the speech recognition only works with the EVDO connection!

Yes, I can get to m.live.com but the download link won't connect. Yeah, that's right. The "speak" only works with EVDO. Maybe the program was optimized to work with a data connection. I read the fine print one time about "maybe needing extra services or software, blah, blah, blah". I would be interested to know if it works tomorrow. From one of the threads and my experience with reinstalling, it will work for about 10-15 searches and then you will get the search error. I guess most people are rich enough to afford a data plan!

Re: Live Search on Verizon DSL WIFI WEP

And now I had a couple of search failures. I disabled the speech feature and search started working again. Odder and odder. I want to see a log from my wireless router.

Sprint is cheap. My wife is on a SERO plan - 500 minutes + unlimited nights and weekends 7-7 + unlimited data + unlimited SMS on her Centro = $30/month. My plan is $45. I hope they stay in business so I don't have to switch.

Re: Live Search on Verizon DSL WIFI WEP

The Live Search didn't work even once with the WEP disabled. I was surprised. I think it is optimized for a data plan so I'm giving up. Bigger fish to fry. Thanks to everyone that tried to help.
