I'm not having any luck grabbing the stuff via torrent either.
Any chance you could use that free file sharing site? It gives you a gig of storage and seems reasonably fast. That's http://www.4shared.com I got your ImCoKeMaN rom pkg 1.zip but I'd love to get your OEMs for the stuff you did... |

Sweet i'll be making use of the ftp site! In the meantime though for those that were asking i recommend utorrent (its tiny and only 1 file) for downloading my torrents. I have been uploading to some people at about 180k or so. Hopfully that's fast enough for people to think it's worth it until the ftp site is ready....tomorrow?
edit: There are a few customize packages included in my rom, but all the other apps i installed were just taking pakages from the xda ftp site link that was in the rom kitchen thread. if you use internet exploere you need to add the xda ![]() I made my imcokeman mods.txt file to list all the changes i did so they can be recreated in the kitchen as a learning tool. the netcf2 i made is similar to schett's helmi_adition package and his MouHid changes will fix P&V also if you want to make my rom in the kitchen without a torrent (and before the ppcgeeks ftp is up). |

Cool all around!
Here's my suggestion (while we all wait for ppcgeeks 2.0 tomorrow!) Let's call yours the baseline - once the ftp site is up, upload your kitchen to it as such. Looks a little cleaner then mine, and clearly it's working ![]() As we all make OEMs, we upload em to an "OEM" folder on the FTP site. The HOW TO should tell folks how to (1) download the baseline + any addition tools (wide's tools to make the final rom & the rom flasher package) (2) build the baseline (3) flash it. and then... (4) how to add/remove OEM packages (mostly just download the OEM packages you want, put em in the OEM folder of your kitchen, and then go from (2) above) - or delete/move a package out of the OEM folder to remove it... (5) how to remove apps from the baseline image - for example, removing MSN is done by removing the three MSN folders from OS, then building from step 2 above... and finally (6) how to make your own OEM package from a CAB file, and/or manually by poking around your own device after installing an app. We want to make sure also we don't get ppcgeeks into any trouble, so no commercial OEM packages, right? I you did want to move a commercial app into your rom, you could build your own OEM package for it, but you'd not want to share it. Spiffy? |

For PC I'd recommend Azureus (azureus.sourceforge.net) |

FYI, I am working my way now thru the sprint extended rom with an eye on making it into one or more OEM packs.
So far, several of them are just registry settings (which is sure easy) I am using the most recent sprint extended rom cabs, and http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/msceinf.shtml Working fine so far. But sadly, time to get going on the day job ![]() Anyway, when done, you should end up with 1 OEM pack you build into your OS ROM *for SPRINT 6700 only* then you can just nuke your extended rom and use it as you want. It will not contain any PRL/PRI stuff, as that's a simple cab you can run once after a cold boot, and frankly your PRL is in the radio anyway, so you don't want to change it (potentially back to an old version!) every time you hard-reset. I will keep track of what I'm doing to make the OEM(s) so we can get a guide going. |

schettj - Keep up the good work i'm definitely looking forward to the sprint customization package. I hate waiting for customizations every time i hard reset (since it's getting more frequent now that we can cook in the kitchen)
I have no problem uploading my already modified kitchen as a RAR for a baseline. If you have any questions or need help with a guide etc just let me know. I could easily have a torrent for it up tonight while awaiting the FTP if you want to look at it to start and if you are still having torrent issues i'll look into the 4share also. |
