I have a rom on my phone that was made from the kitchen with the mods listed below. I have another one made that also adds WM5 newmenu and clearview (ppt/pdf) viewer. So far the only things i've done with my custom OEM package is make a registry entry and add a txt file to the windows dir. I am trying to keep this lean on memory use and notice there are NO today screen plugins. So far all the apps i've added seem to be working fine. Also, magic button isn't set to auto run so it can be ignored if it isn't wanted. I can always add reg tweaks, but they don't really take up space so i don't want to do any that are questionable.

Now for the poll:
1) Should i upload the one i'm running, and if so where?
2) should i upload the one with WM5 New Menu and clearview instead?
3) Should i completely redo this cuz it's not even worth installing like this? (if you think #3 please add some feedback too :wink: )

Removed Powerpoint and related entries from OS package: 331439cf-a636-4243-8424-e501be3a39d2

Oh yeah.... I didn't put in PHM regedit, but i have a package to add that one too. In fact i could easily add any kitchen package from XDA if it was wanted. It might be a while before i get too crazy with my own packages though

Edit: Yes i know that the kitchen allows people to modify things to their liking, but i wanted to get an actual working ROM kitchen rom posted to add confidence for people. Then i might work on a more step by step guide to making the same rom using the modules i modified/removed/added. I think that would be very helpful in getting people going.

Hmm sounds like you're close to where I am - but...

You've still got the P&V dll problem?
and
You have no .NET in ROM?

Can you try these two packages in your build and see if it all works out?

Move your existing folders out of your OEM folder, save em! Copy these in - build & burn. If it works, then you've got the baseline ROM with .NET2.0SP1 and the Pic&Vid DLLs correct in ROM.

If not, I would love to know.

When you added your packages, did you put them in seperate OEM packages, or did you lump them all into one?

Oh that P&V problem....crap i thought that was working LOL . Ok I will look at the packages you have there. The packages I have added so far were all from XDA except for the minor changes I made. I will look into adding these packages of you have into one called schettj and send it back to you if it works. I plan on sharing mine via a torrent so people can get it if they want and i don't have the issues with rapidshare and the 10mb upload on this site (mines still 1mb hehe)

My upload is pretty good, but please leave it open til you have a decent upload ratio.

I couldn't get the packages from schett to DL properly yet so i don't have the update, but i am still lookin at it.

Great news Wideawake! That will make things much easier to share (not that torrents don't have merit also).

ImCoKeMaN thanks for sharing your rom. I'll download it here in a bit and check it out.

schettj - I've tried downloading both of those files a couple of times each (cleared cache in between attempts) and they come up as corrupt zip files. Can you check to make sure they're OK?

I'm compiling the dump folder now for the next try. The .net should work and the P&V fixes as well (had the same issues with schett's files, but i think i got around it). Once i get it loaded on my phone and working i'll share the torrent for that too.

Zipped under windows... but I guess they could be borked.

They seem fine here... right click the link, select save as...? Maybe my apache server is doing something to them? I just tried it and they downloaded OK for me.

Well I have the new rom torrent uploaded (just as the first person finished downloading the first torrent). .net works, camera works. I added the clearview and newmenu program also. It did seem a little slower to go through the first boot for some reason(maybe cuz it was connected to the PC), but it seems to be working fine now.

the one with .NET CF2 is the new one. I also put the netcf2 rom kitchen package i created (with the files from colonel's "package" plus a UUID for the reg entry) up there for others that want to use this in their ROM builds.

Edit: I still couldn't get the files you uploaded schett, but if you check out the netcf2 package you might get an idea of what is needed. Also the site i went to for the info on getting the UUID is: http://www.buzzdev.net/index.php?opt...4,23392,page=1
