Tried a few and find the nullkeyboard I posted a few pages ago works best. Didn't want to repost and can't locate it right now. But yeah, some versions not work good even though say latest.

colonel thanks for sharing this with us. I was getting bored of my ppc6700 and even had started looking into the Q....but know i love my phone again. I look forward to your future updates.
So far the only problems i have is that sometimes i get this Shell error box and it restarts the phone. the other one would be the famous Ring issue. When somebody calls my phone it rings once on their end before my phone ring....any new hack to this or will the old one work??

badwolf 02-07-2007 05:45 PM

if i use the b2 as the installer package do I delete or keep the ms_.nbf when I add the new nk.nbf?
THanks.....

Chekz, I think the shell error was related to the HTC X button. I have had a few of these and I am very aware of the issue. Trying to nail it down. Don't know about the ring issue. I think this may be more of a network issue.

badwolf, you can leave it or delete it. It doesn't really matter as long as it is the proper ms.nbf for your phone. It will just make the install take a little longer.

forgot to post this earlier but the other problem im having is with the soft keys....i didnt notice this happening before i upgraded to i dont know if its software or hardware issues but when i use the soft keys they sometimes work as the windows key or the OK key.

Ya for the ringer delay issue, it's the "slot Cycle index" setting, in the "Modem Settings" of the phone/radio part of your 6700, accessible by dialing ##778# or for verizon just ##778. you can view it but not edit without your special 6 digit number for you specific Sprint phone.
If Verizon the it's just 6zeros .
Anyway it's set at 2 for Sprint, 1for verizon.
For best setting, and least time to poll the tower and get your rings faster, then just set it to zero.

Edit: fixed my spelling

thanks Maxx for trying to help but im just very picky because the other end only rings one before i get the call not like others who may have it worse by ringing more the 1. I had done this before but after the rom update they did a while ago they fix the issued so changing 2 to 0 actually doesnt do nothing at all. but thanks anyways i had forgotten about this method and just gave it a try.

Another Beta3 bug

When I open Messaging and open an email, sometimes the mail client hangs on the color wheel and I have to kill it. Even when it doesn't crash, however, it opens emails too far down.

As I understand it, the Messaging app scrolls down a bit automatically when opening an email to move stuff like the To: field up off the screen and leave more space for the actual message. You can always get to that info if you need it by paging up.

In Beta 3 of the Colonel's ROM, the messaging app scrolls too far and the first screen's worth of the email is off the screen. On each and every email I have to page up to read the top of the message.

How's that for obscure!
