Did you port yours over to the ROM kitchen and building it there or still using the older method?

Once I get my Custom rom done, I will create a "Naked" rom with just .Net 2.0 and the basic fixes for the 3.3 rom. I think Yuma6700 has one that is pretty close. You guys might want to try it out.

Isn't your custom rom the same as what you posted last night or are you still changing it? I flashed last night.

Also what is this time zone fix for and why do we need it? I thought we just change the time ourselves. I have never been able to get time syncing to work. What are your thoughts?

Technically speaking, a "naked" rom shouldn't include any reg tweaks either.

The whole point in using the kitchen is that it makes customizing it yourself much easier.

1) You create modules for programs. If you decide you don't like it, just delete the folder! You won't need to modify your user.hv, boot.hv, boot.rgu or whatever. All the reg entries are in the folder.

2) No messing with boot.hv, boot.rgu, or user.hv. The CreateOS.exe program does it all automatically.

3) Creating space is much faster. Everything is in module folders. Just remove what you don't want. Change your mind? Drop the folder back in!

Regardless- the kitchen just seems toooooo complicated. A "naked" rom in our liking will have all the fixes and tweaks as well as .NET CF 2.

Tweaks are not naked.

What are you going to do with this naked rom, exactly?

I agree Bushrod. I wish there was a way for me to dump my rom into it instead of starting over. On any future roms I will probably use the kitchen when available.

The timezone issue is due to the fact that Daylight Savings is pushed back 4 weeks this year (or something like that). So, the software is programed for this change.

The fix is just registry entries. I will post them over in the kitchen thread I guess.

LOL, that is my question too. I think a lot of people get confused about the memory issue and assume that removing programs from the rom will give them more program and storage memory.

I wasn't going to add any tweaks per say, just fix the few issues such as the smartdialer, pic\vid app, and timezone issues.
