actually that is not a prblem with the rom. smartkey is causing this. open smartkey.ini with total commanders notepad editor and change "set VOLKEY to 1 if you want to override Volume Key (DEFAULT 1)" from 1 to 0. soft reset, and you'll get your volume slider back.

ok, anyone have a suggestion for my 6700 locking up at night when its charging? i tried the fixes i read here earlier (can't find them right now), but it still did it last night. i am hoping it won't tonight, but i have a feeling it will. it also locked up on me while i was talking to my dad on my way home from my trip today (due to dropping a sprint signal is my guess).

I've been getting the overnight lockup every morning as well - just reflashed to latest Colonel's 3.5 to see if I could fix it, and first thing this morning, it is locked up. This is on a completely clean, new install - I didn't add a thing or adjust anything, just reflashed, did two hard resets, and went to bed. Non-response screen (will actually beep when pressed), and completely locked up.

During the day, this is a great ROM, overnight, not so much!

Honestly? Hard to say. I think we're less high profile than xda-dev is, and by and large, I think that the Apache forum is the only one going in the direction we're going. We're definitely smaller fish, but I think a lot of it also depends on how many people are calling Sprint, Verizon, and the other telcos with problems resulting from their ROMs and fingering us as the reason....

Pretty simple reason, actually. xda-dev. They as a community have been hacking away at HTC phones for years now, so in a sense, we're just leveraging all the work they've done. I don't know if anyone dedicated has really gone after the Treos....

Well we had most of our work done for us by enterprising users over in Europe who use other devices. The beauty of buying an HTC PPC is that they are all fundamentally similar under the hood... so advances made with one device can often be directly translated to another.

The problem with the Treos is that they're designed (and intimately customized) by Palm. So it will take many smart people owning Treos before the ROMs for those can be figured out and modified.
