That's the power of the signal you're receiving from the 1x and EV-DO base stations you're currently talking to. Those values aren't of any use to compare with other people because they reflect your unique position in relation to your carrier's local towers.

What we need to test this is someone who has two 6700s who can measure with the two devices sitting right next to each other.

Edit: Just so everyone is aware, lower numbers in the RX Power field mean better signal strength.

Once FieldTrial opens you'll see a value for RX Power--use that to objectively monitor and report your signal strength.

I would be extremely surprised if the CE ROM on these devices has any ability to affect that value. I suppose it's possible, but these things are designed to keep the radio and Windows sides pretty-well separated.

kdoweb - Try flashing the Altel complete ROM over to your phone (it can be downloaded at the utstarcom.com web site I posted on the last page). I think Sprint and Verizon are the only encrypted ROMs.

the Altel radio will not flash either I get error 120: country id error.

I am one step closer I'm able to flash the verizon stock rom without the radio file so I have stock rom and ext rom but still no radio

Good point as I remember doing this all the time with the 6600. For some reason, though, I didn't think this was true for the Apache. For instance, I didn't think that Verizon phones would work with the latest Sprint radio.

What did you do differently that allowed flashing the Verizon CE and extrom this time? Were you using the original RUU app or the maupgrade one?

@colonel - what made you think that situation changed on the 6700? You may be right (I've never tried it) but that surprises me if so, because all of the GSM radio roms are interchangable and all apaches run the exact same hardware. EDIT: I just read your post again. No I wouldn't be surprised if the Alltel radio ROM doesn't work at all in his Verizon--I'm just trying to get any radio ROM installed there because I think then it will be easier to get the Verizon one on.

I may be completely wrong, but I have a thought in the back of my head that someone had issues after accidentally installing the wrong radio. I completely agree with your logic. It would be nice to have a chance to test this.

I use the stock ruu and remove the radio file. I swore I tried this many times yesterday with it not flashing but for some reason it took it just now. I must of been freaking out yesterday, it was after all 3:00AM when I gave up and went to bed. I must have overlook something. But my major problem still remain the radio_.nbf. How can I force flash it to the phone?

now device information reads:

ROM version: 2.07.20 WWE
Rom Date: 02/24/06
Radio version: NONE
Protocol version: empty
ExtRom version: 2.07.200 WWE
Hardware version: 0041
prl version: empty
pri version: empty
Browser version: msie 4.01
esn: empty

How low do these numbers go? To zero? How high do they go? I have seen mine get over 100.

The biggest thing is to stay organized. There are many roms and files, etc. Keep them organized and follow a direct system to success each time.

colonel 02-10-2007 04:40 PM

kdoweb, now try it with just the radio.nbf or all three again.

WirelessSync Screen Blank!

This is an awesome rom upgrade . . . And my 1st post to the forum. So, please bear with me. :)

I'm a Verizon user. And, I've installed the rom & worked out every issue except one. My WirelessSybc screen is now blank & doesn't show the results of the sybc session anymore. Are there any Verizon users out there who have experienced this &/or know of anyway to restore the text on the screen???

I hard reset & reflashed the last Verizon rom just to verify that the screen was working. And it was. It went blank once I flashed with this rom & with Helmi_C's rom. -- FYI, I didn't allow Verizon customization. I just went back & installed the WirlessSync & MMS apps.

Anyone????? Thanks in advance!
