That fixes Pictures and Video.

This ROM rocks!

Unfortunately even total commander won't work for me to delete/rename the mfc80.dll file (it's not letting me remove the read-only and system flags from it). What'd you guys need to do to get that file to be modifiable?

EDIT: Nevermind, thanks for the fix guys - got it to work after a couple tries in totalcommander.

I didnt finish reading through the thread yet, but do you have a different dialer installed?

edit: I did read through it, and the solution is the same I was going to suggest.

I can't get the pic/vid too work. Every time I try to run it- it still makes me have to soft reset.

Can someone who has got this working please share perfect and detailed instructions on how to get it working?

Thanx

Anyone have any more info on this error? I am getting the same thing with some of my installed programs.

The two files in the /windows folder need to be renamed:

rename mfc80u.dll ---> mfc80u.dll.bak
rename msvcr80.dll ---> msvcr80.dll.bak

You may see mfc80u.dll_ as well and same for msvcr80.dll_ or something similar. Not sure why but they both say they are in rom.

Note - In order to see the .dll files you need to show file extension and unhide files in ROM using a program such as resco file explorer. Its available as a trial version if you need it.

THEN:

copy the files from /windows/OEM to /windows

It will give you big scary message saying you may damage your ROM if you overwrite files. DOIT!

soft-reboot

Fixed!

Pics and Vids work just as stated above

Good Luck.

This is similar to the Palm SMS install. Less dangerous though

I actually have two of each of these files already in my Windows folder. The msvcr80 are 36.8k and 37.4k. The mfc80u's are 671.8k and 680.9k. Am I the only person with this? Strange. I am going to keep the bigger files even though the smaller files are the same size as the ones in the OEM folder.

I've been trying to do this, but no go. It will not rename them as it says that it cannot delete when I am trying to rename. When I was in the OEM directory and renamed them they did fine. Then I moved them to the windows directory and then soft resetted. When I went back to check to make sure they were in the windows directory and name changed they were there(intriplicate and with some weird "_" underneath one of each- mfc80u.dll_) but without the .bak afterward on any of them.

What do I need to do?

Ok now I have the .bak(how I don't know) on the right ones, but there are still the other two- one that is the same size and name(but without the .bak) and the other that has the "_"after it.

What is with that?

That's what I thought, but I cannot delete the file I transferred over to the windows directory. So that is almost a meg wasted.

So what you are saying is that we shouldn't even go into the OEM directory huh?
