sprint pcs community

This seems to be a Sprint PCS community, is there a forum or website equivalent to this forum that deals more with the XV6700 from Verizon?

I noticed that most of the requests (cab removal, Ext ROM tweaking) for Verizon go unanswered.

You do a search for xv6700 or even HTC Apache and tell me if ppcgeeks.com comes up on the first 3 pages.

I know there are allot of ppl from Verizon here, but after reading allot of the modification posts i noticed that when some one asks " is there one for verizon" or something related to no answer is give 98% of the time.

So I am sorry but if you do not know the answer to my question please do not point me to google for I have been and am part of forums for a while now, and i know the meaning to the search button.

Taurus, I am sorry that you feel the way you do. As Jack just listed, there are plenty of resources for you. I have spent a lot of time at pdaphonehome.com and there is a lot of great info there. However, PPCGeeks is more "cutting edge". Wideawake it not only the Admin, but he is producing ROM upgrades and many other helpful products for us users.

In reviewing your other posts in other threads it seems that you were asking about doing a ROM upgrade, but were confused about performing backups. I truly mean no offense by this, but ROM upgrades are really for advanced users. It does not mean that new users cannot do them, but a good knowledge of the phone and its OS are really important.

Basically my point is this, the key to this site or any other is to gain knowledge through searching and reading the information that is already there. Once you understand the similarities and differences between the XV6700 and the PPC6700 you will be able to understand what is compatible and what is not. You will also be able to try stuff out yourself and remove it if it doesn't work.

Please stick around as this site is great and only getting better. I would also strongly suggest checking the pdaphonehome forum as it has been around a little longer (I think) and has a little more "basic" information, tips for new users, and searches will probably find you answers to questions that aren't answered here.

I have looked at these sites before you posted them, if you read my original question carefully I was asking about a site or forum like this one, where someone is performing the same mods as Wideawake for Verizon ROMs.

There seems to be none, most point back here.

And just to give you a little help or insight on emight say here is what I searched on:
xv6700
unlock xv6700
xv6700 mods
xv6700 ROM
HTC apache
HTC modding
Verizon rom
modding the xv6700
and on and on and on...

Again than you very much for your help and support, you can move on now. I will figure this out on my own.

Okay, Wideawake has produced a ROM upgrade for you. However, he has not produced a custom ExtROM for Verizon. Mostly because I believe he has a Sprint phone. With a little research you can find out how to use the ROM he gave us and your own ExtROM.

I have already updated my phone with Wideawake's aku2.2 beta, I have made all registry changes, I am not offended by your post cause I am no noob to flashing updating or modding, been doing this since Palm OS with the amber screen units, which some users might have still been in junior high.

My simple question was basically maybe another site doing the same work as wideawake but more on verizons side. After your post I now know that the answer is no seems Wideawake is the source for this.

I do not need basic info, I need advanced info that is why I asked.

I just hate it when ppl tell you to search or google, seems some ppl thrive on that answer.

Thanks
