I think this would go a long way towards slimming down the rom as well as allow people to install the voice stuff that they want (in my case, MSVC only)

Just an idea, keep up the great work!
I second all this!

Thanks a lot for this!

I was wondering if using spb backup file from my previous setup would override any of the tweaks for this beta?

thanks

I would like to report success with the XV6700. It is definately snappier than the official 2.2 from VZW.

Not sure what to use in the EXT ROM yet. Im rusty on the VZW cabs that were in there. I backed them up to PC and SD card for safe keeping.

I don't think there is actually a 2.2 rom officially from verizon...Last I saw, it was still on 2.0 (I could be wrong though)

There seems to be two threads that have links to a number of different ROMs here. I have a Sprint PPC6700 running the official Sprint 2.06 ROM since I had issues with the NZT 2.2 ROM.
I'd like to try one of these 2.2 custom ROMs, but I'm not sure which is the most recent and/or appropriate for my device. I've downloaded everything that seems correct, but even the Sprint custom ROM has a ReadMe that says that the telecom logo/splashcreen will appear.
Also, I want my ExtROM withouit all the junkware, but I have some different programs that I'd like installed. There seems to be two ExtROMs that are correct for my machine and maybe even the third custom ExtROM.

Let's assume that I'll work with removing some of the included programs that I don't want and can install a few of my programs- which ROM/ExtRom should I install? Do any of the uploaded ROMs include any of the ExtROMs?
Second scenario is that if the above isn't reasonable, what should I be doing to install a Sprint splashscreened ROM with a junkware free ExtROM?
Thanks.

Trident,

I think you want to get the custom ROM with no ExtROM and then install the "plain Sprint ExtROM". This should give you the new rom with the sprint junk removed.

Or, I suggest reading the thread on making your own ExtROM. It is surprisingly easy and I think you could pull it off.
