Ok I tried the prl update cab with the new custom rom. It turns the radio of as it should and nothing happens for a while (a long while). I soft reset and I lose everything on my today screen. needless to say I hard reset the ppc like 5 times last night trying to make it work but to no avail.

Did you follow the instructions I left in the earlier thread? http://ppcgeeks.com/sprint-prl-updat...ack-t1868.html I added mine to the Ext ROM, But running it manually it will just turn off the phone radio and sit. I have no idea how long to wait. I think I waited a minute or two with no problems. Please post in that thread so I can watch out for updates and help you out there if I can.

Yeah, but not everything has a CAB file for it. In fact most of my apps don't. I even checked the developer's sites too.

What apps? Maybe we can help out. I know there are several on this site and others that are not in CABs. But that doesn't mean we can't make our own. Start a new thread probably in the Software section with your requests and I and I'm sure others will see what we can do.

Well Thanks to ppc6700freak I have updated the Customize_SPCS.sa.CAB. It now includes a Good Quality PhoneOff.wav based on the original sound. Only 49KB. Ok so not quite as good as the swap hack of the PhoneOn.wav, but it is back to how it is supposed to be with a great savings in space.

While I was editing this CAB I changed a couple things:
1. Updated PhoneOff.was (Thanks ppc6700freak)
2. Removed the Sprint PIE Homepage and UTStorm Logo.
3. Disabled Fight Mode Phone Key (Registry Tweak)
4. Enabled GPS Debug in FieldTrail.exe (Registry Tweak)
5. Enabled HiddenVoicePrivacyPage (Registry Tweak)
6. Enabled HiddenTimesyncPage (Registry Tweak) (No longer need TimeSnyc.sa.CAB from Sprint Ext ROM)

I should be at it again tonite and will post on that link to update you. Like the new cab and more junk to get rid of. Sooner or later these roms are not going to have anything that originally came with it.

p.s still looking for how to correctly put .exe files in config.txt I tried cpy and it didnt work. dont want to try exec cos i am thinking it will try to run the prog which is not wat i want.

CPY1:\Extended_ROM\AddContact (Source)
CPY2:\Windows\AddContact (Destination)

Try That Or do you need an installer for something?

Has anyone tried to Sync music from Windows Media player to this device via ActiveSync? For some reason with both Telecom and this build the Storage Card will not show up in Windows Media Player. I see the PPC itself and the Extended ROM, but not the storage card. Any ideas?

Edit: I figured out what was the problem. While WMP was up I popped the SD card in and out and noticed it recognized the change, but never showed the card. I formatted the card and popped it back in and now the storage card showed up. I have a feeling there may have been some DRM information on the card I had not deleted since I had copied DRM'ed music on it back when I was on the Sprint ROM. I'm guessing since it already had DRM information the storage card would not show up.

I installed Total Commander, but when i go to /extended_rom , I dont see any files/cabs in it?

Theeeeeeeeeeeen you probably downloaded the advance one without any files in the Ext Rom.

You installed the advanced users ONLY ROM. It comes with a BLANK extROM. You will have to reinstall the sprint update to get the cabs back or wait on my extROM which Im working on now. But my extROM will be Sprint ONLY.

What will be the main difference between YOUR Rom and the Rom that is now with the Sprint download? That is what I am confused on and to why I would get one or the other.

Also- When can we expect YOUR rom version to be complete and will it be an all inclusive OS/Rom upgrade as well similiar to the Beta 2 you just released?

Just a tad bit late. But, oh well..........
That is because the extended rom included is blank. You need to put your own customized extended rom in there for now. Hopefully you have a backup. If not, PM me asap and i can try to email you one with junkware removed. (thats all i have left)
