Question Sprint Etf Waived? How I'm I Eligible?

I spoke with a painful Sprint CSR and says i'm not eligible for the ETF to be waived because my charges went down and it is not more but less although a new fee was implemented. Can anyone share what their bill looks like when they are eligible???

This is my bill charges comparison changes:

DECEMBER BILL:

Charges assessed on Sprint that we elect to pass on to customers and are intended to recover the administrative and other costs of complying with certain government programs and mandates. Charges that appear in this section, also called "Sprint Fees", are not taxes or government-imposed fees. For more information on Additional Sprint Charges, visit www.sprint.com or contact Sprint Customer Service.

Federal-Fed. 911 Fee $1.60
Federal-Fed. Local Number Portability $0.60
Federal-Univ Serv Assess Non-LD $4.56
Pennsylvania State-Gross Receipts Recovery $7.29
--------------
$14.05

JANUARY BILL:
Sprint Surcharges are rates we choose to collect from you to help defray costs imposed on us. Surcharges are not taxes or amounts we are required to collect from you by law. Surcharges may include: Federal USF, regulatory charges, administrative charges, gross receipts charges, and other charges incurred to recover costs associated with governmental programs. The amounts, and the components used to calculate Surcharge amounts, are subject to change.
Federal-Univ Serv Assess Non-LD $2.66
Pennsylvania State-Gross Receipts Recovery $5.68
Administrative Charge $3.00
Regulatory Charge $0.80
--------------
$12.14

PLEASE SHARE YOUR CHARGES ON THIS THREAD IF YOU ARE/WERE ELIGIBLE FOR THE WAIVED ETF?????

This is what I did to cancel my contract and NOT have an ETF.

I dialed *2 and pressed 0 a couple of time so I could speak to a person. (Note, this was about midnight eastern standard time. The longest I had to wait at any point in my call was about 60-90 seconds.) I got on the sprint website and brought up their online contract and scrolled down to "When You Don't Have To Pay An Early Termination Fee".

When the rep gets on the phone, ask something about your account. I wanted to know my balance and when it was due. After I told the rep I received notice that Sprint was changing my contract. I said they were eliminating some fees and adding some new ones (even though it dropped my overall bill by 30 or 40 cents). I read some parts of the contract to the rep; something like...Sprint has made a materially adverse change to my contract by adding new fees and eliminating some other ones, and I would like to cancel my contract, but still maintain service with Sprint. Then I asked the rep if they would be able to assist me or who would I need to speak with to make this happen. They transferred me to another rep (who was in the wrong department) and I was transferred again.

The third rep I spoke to was able to cancel my contract, change my information in the system to a month to month basis, and made a high priority note (with supervisor approval) that I can cancel my contract from that day on until the original end date with out an ETF.

During the whole process I wrote down names of the reps and asked for their ID. I also took note of the date and time I called and got the name of the supervisor who approved my cancellation.

The third rep advised me if I went to the Sprint store and got the really "good deal" on any of the Sprint phones, it would lock me into another 2 year contract and I would not be able to have that contract voided.

So now I am free to change carriers when ever I want and no ETF from Sprint.

I also read to the third rep the information regarding the "When I would not have to pay an ETF". AND...The last day to cancel is Jan 31, 2008. So make sure you call before 12AM EST.
