WMP skipping
i tried a different media player (pocket music) and it works a lot better. I also discovered that turning wifi on and off has a significant impact on the performance of the headphones. With wifi off, pocket music functions flawlessly and windows media player is usuable. With wifi on, however, pocket music skips every once in a (great) while and windows media stutters a lot. I am still playing off the miniSD. I was real happy that even the forward/back media control buttons my headphones have work too. Overall, its a quirky setup, but it works. I hear that HTC or someone did not include this A2DP hack in its latest upgrade because they were unhappy with its stability. I also heard that official support for A2DP headsets were coming before the end of the year. hopefully.

Ok...I know this a2dp thing must be great to have and works perfectly with the PPC6700. But what about the Treo 700wx? I can't seem to get this to work with it. Anyone been able to figure it out? My BT headphones pair up and they come up as headphones with "Wireless Stereo" as the service but can't seem to get sound to come out of them...

Stutters with wifi on and poor sound quality
Installed this on 6700 and using the Motorola 820. It works. It's stereo. controls function, but: with wifi on the sound stutters with WMP and worse with Slingplayer. If I turn off wifi and use cellular to connect to slingbox - no stutters, WMP still does occasionally, probably an SD issue.
I gotta ask, though. Is this as good as the sound quality gets? Cause I'll sell the headset tomorrow if it is. Then, I won't have to waste any more time curing those stutters. Don't get me wrong. There is rich bass and even some imaging. The high end is untolerable. MP3's are bad enough on their own. The highs sound like an MP3 of a worn out analog cassette where the high end fades in and out incessantly. Admittedly I'm a bit of an audio snob. But do you guys really listen to it like that? The sound is better than the narrow bandwith sound you get from the phone app. Hifi, though, it is not. Not even midfi. It could be louder, too. I would greatly appreciate any help. If something is amiss or I'm doing something wrong, I'd like to try to correct it before I ditch the stereo BT concept altogether. |

I found a nice new hack to help with A2DP stuttering:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=262119 It is a registry editor that grants the BTa2dp stack highest processing priority. I still get some pauses when I run on miniSD, but off of main memory my stuttering and pauses are gone. But I still have issues if anything else is running but TCPMP. /Me needs a 3200 mAh battery and an overclock program ![]() EDIT: Turns out downloading the trial of Pocket Hack master and overclocking my system to 520 MHz got rid of the last of my stutters and pauses. I hope the 6800 has a beefier processor on it. Jammrock |
