Store did not do squat, and customer care is worse!!
drove 1 hour to a store/repair center, they reloaded the firmware (I already did this), they still could not get it to connect at EV speeds.. They said they would order me a new phone, but would take 2 weeks or so to get there.
I travel, and I don't have time to screw with this. I called customer care, and explained the issue to me, and they are completely worthless.. they tell me to call the insurance and deal with them. I am not convinced it is a phone issue, but nonetheless, I will not let this go. I want my EV speeds.. how should I proceed?.. I am about to threaten them with a contract termination, since they are not providing the service I agreed on. I will be in Raleigh NC tomorrow, and I will try a store there.. let me know.. /mike |

Got another phone,same problem
I happened to be outside of Raleigh NC, stopped at a store, they told me, "goto this repair center" went there,wasn't a repair center. The manager went out of his way and called a couple of corporate repair centers and found one with a 6700 to swap.. Went there (in Durham), they swapped it..
and, guess what!!! Same Friggin Problem!!! Will NOT connect at EV, only 1X.. sometimes with factory flash, it will show EV on the data connection, but only at idle, and soon as you hit a link in IE or other data, it then shows only 1X.. I only get a 1X connection. Because this is now on two phones, same problem, I think it must be a network issue. BTW,, nobody even offered, or tried to do an upgrade.. I have TEP, but they always just say "we will order you one", or "go through the insurance". this was at stores in Virginia Beach, Raleigh NC, Wake Forest, NC, and Durham NC they are not letting the 6800's out!!! let me know what you think! I am calling tech support today when I get to an EV area and talk with them.. I will keep pushing until they get me to connect at EV, even if they keep replacing the phone with the same model.. I will stay after them! /mike |

Finally working!!!
spent 20 minutes on hold with tech support two separate times yesterday and found somebody with some knowledge, and some concern.
Turns out it was a problem on their end (i suspected that). they had to 'sync' the phone from their end, and I asked them if a ## code would avert all the calls in the future and he said no, as that problem was on their end, but they flagged the account to exactly what he did and all is well for the moment. shux.. wanted a mogul, but perfectly happy with my 6700 for what I do with it. unfortunately the replacemetn 6700 I ended up with the stylus hole is real loose and I have lost two styluses now.. .off to wal-mart to buy a pen style stylus for a gamebody ds to have to carry around all the time.. thanks anyways.. tho, no replys in a looonnngggg time.. I was just giving you an update. |
