Data refuses to connect at EV, only 1X

anyways.. I got the newest PPCGeeks WM6 (Helmi), radio at 1.43, and newest PRL..

I was in the middle of D.C. and it would never go at EV on data.. It would try and try and take 5 minutes or so, then it will either not connect and give an error, or it will default connect to 1X.. each and every time..

It has done this for the past 4 months.. connects fine at 1x, and works great, but I want my EV speeds!!!! I have been to Newark NJ, same thing, Philly, D.C. VA beach, Raleigh, NC.. I mean all areas that have EV, and it shows as EV on the phone, just WILL NOT connect data at EV.. whether I hook it up and do I Sharing, or just direct with the phone.

any suggestions? I am about to take it to a service center and tell them to show me them connecting at EV.. of course, after I reinstall the official sprint rom.
